Paper Playtime Challenge #73 "Anything Goes" Blog Hop

Good Monday morning, my friends.  Welcome to the Paper Playtime "Anything Goes" Blog hop.  This challenge is obviously.....Anything Goes.  If you have come from Lisa's blog then you are in the correct spot.  If you just happened to come by to visit me today, please go to Paper Playtime to start at the beginning of our hop and for the rules of the challenge for this week.

I am sharing a very special card with you today.  It is a card that I was going to share a few weeks ago along with some exciting news for our family but could not because all of the relevant parties had not been told.  Well....they know now and I can share.  The big news.....I am going to be a grandma for the first time in September.  I must admit, I am pretty excited and have started to try to find a few baby things.  Only reason I have toned down on my making and buying things is that my son and daughter-in-law do not want to know what they are having and since everything is either pink or blue it is hard to find cute things that are gender neutral.  I made the following card for my daughter-in-law:

A close up of the image:

RECIPE:

Card stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ Echo Park "Winter Park" 6 x 6
Image ~ Digi from Saturated Canary "Pickles and Ice Cream"
coloured with Copic markers
Sentiment ~ My Pink Stamper
Cuttlebug ~ Swiss Dots and Seeing Spots embossing folders
Punch ~ EK Success (border)
~ Creative Memories (oval)
Spellbinders Nestabilities ~ Lacey Ovals
Colorbox Chalk ~ Lipstick Red
Glossy Accents (eyes, lips, cherry)
Buttons and twine from "Use it Up" inventory

When I saw this cute image I just knew I had to have her to colour up for my daugther-in-law.   The inside sentiment says "Happy Mom's Day" and I am going to give it to her for Mother's Day.  It was supposed to be sooner but this will work too.

Thanks for coming by today.  Your next stop on our blog hop is Sherri's blog.  The short list of hoppers is at the bottom of this post along with the link to add your "Anything Goes" project for this week.

Have a wonderful day!!

My Little Diva

Good morning!  Welcome to Friday.  I hope y'all have wonderful plans for the weekend.  I am going to spend some time with my bff and her Mom....we may even get in some time for crafting together.I am looking forward to it.

Since I started the road to blogging again with a hop this week, I decided a challenge would be another great way to get back into the swing of things.  The challenge this week at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is to use this sketch:

I enjoy working with sketches and it just so happens that I made a trip to my favourite stamping store this weekend so I had the newest Kraftin' Kimmie stamp to ink up.

 My card:

"8 Months til Christmas" Blog Hop

Good Morning, my friends!  What better way for me to get back to blogging after my little break than with a hop.  Welcome to the "8 Months til Christmas" blog hop.  If you arrived from Georgiana's blog then you are in the right place.  If you would like to start at the beginning of the hop, go to Georgiana's blog as she is first on our short hop of 6.  The complete list will be posted at the end.

On the 25th of every month we do a Christmas card blog hop where we create 2 cards ~ one using a stamped, coloured image and one using a die cut machine of some sort.  This way we will be prepared with some cards when that busy season arrives.

My Cricut card today is scrap lifted from my friend Mary at CARDZ TV.  She made a lovely card that I wanted to try so I made it into a Christmas card.  It is more elegant than cute which veers from my usual style.  It uses traditional Christmas colours.

RECIPE:

Card stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ DCWV Christmas stack
Cricut ~ Elegant Edges
Sentiment ~ Kraftin' Kimmie Nativity Sentiments
Cuttlebug ~ Swiss Dots Embossing folder
Buttons & twine from my "Use it Up" inventory

My stamped image card uses very non-traditional colours and is a fun, bright card.   It is a 5" X 5" square.

RECIPE:

Card stock ~ Recollections
Patterned paper ~ from my "use It Up" inventory (I have had it so long
I do not remember where I got it or who the manufacturer is)
Stamp ~ House Mouse Designs Light Line
coloured with my Copic markers
Sentiment ~ Kraftin' Kimmie
Glossy Accents
Button, twine and gems also from my inventory

Thank you for dropping by today.  I hope to have a few more posts for you in the next little while.  I have been spending my crafting time scrap booking again and loving it.  You are now off to the talented Kerry's blog.  Have a great day and "Merry Christmas"!!!

"April Showers" ~Paper Playtime Die Cut Challenge #71

Good morning, all!  Well, as the saying goes "April showers.....bring May flowers" that is the kind of weather we have had so far in April.  Good thing the pretty flowers are a result of the rain because rain is my least favourite weather.  Today is also the first Monday of the month and a new die cut challenge at Paper Playtime.  Our challenge is to use an umbrella and a die cut machine on your project.  Please go check out what my talented design team sisters have made and play along.

My card:

A close up of the card itself:

RECIPE:

Card stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ Unknown from my scrap pile
Cricut ~ Paisley cartridge umbrella cut at 3 1/2" all layers
Sentiment ~ Michaels $1.50 bin
Punches ~ Fiskers
~ EK Success
~ Martha Stewart
Stickles ~ Cotton Candy
Glossy Accents

I received a new lens for my camera for Christmas and have not had a chance to even try it until yesterday.  The close up of the card was taken with it.  Since it is primarily a portrait lens (Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II) I really don't have a subject at home to practice on so I took these.

Best pictures of my cat I have ever seen.  Maybe next weekend I will get a chance to try on people at my Mom & Dad's.  Hubby says he's not posing for me.  LOL!

Take care, my friends.  Don't forget to join us this week at Paper Playtime and show us your umbrellas.  I hope it is the only time I will see one for a while.
