Cupcakes....Round 2

Good Morning.  Last week I shared my first dozen cupcakes that I made in my class.  Today I have round 2, another dozen that I decorated a couple of days after my class.  These ones are much better as I had more variety in my frosting and decorations and I also did them at home while no one was watching.  It helps that my wonderful hubby took me shopping for more tips as well.  I can't wait to make more probably for Easter :)

Some close ups:

And this one is for you MOM:

Glad you could drop in today.  Just a quick side note ~ I have resigned from all of my design team commitments except one and am going to be concentrating on my first love, scrapbooking, and enjoying my crafting time again for me.  I hope that you will all continue to visit me and I hope that I can continue to inspire you to have fun creating.  I appreciate each and every one of you and all of the visits and comments.

Another New Venture....or....Something I Have Always Wanted to Try

Happy Saturday.  Hope you are having a great one no matter what you are doing.  As I previously stated, I am going to show you a non-paper project today.  It is how I spent last evening and I even had to take the pictures then so they did turn out a little darker than I wanted but a retake this morning just wasn't gonna happen (mostly because we enjoyed some last night).  For the entire time that I have worked at the local craft store I have been trying to fit this class into my schedule and finally Friday night I was able to complete it.  It was the Wilton project class "Cupcakes and More".  I have been making cupcakes for a while now on special occasions and have taught myself how to do the swirls to ice them but wanted some other ideas.  Here are my 12 cupcakes from last night:

Now I did not have all of the colours of icing that our instructor used so I made due with what I had.  Here are a couple of my faves close up:

Okay, so these are by no means perfect and are going to take LOTS of practice to get right....hubby says I can practice anytime.....and since I made 24 and only decorated 12 last night I have 12 more to practice on today.  Anybody want to come join me for tea and a cupcake?

Thanks for stopping by  today.  Don't forget to join us tomorrow for the ".....Months to Christmas" Blog Hop where we will be showcasing our monthly Christmas cards.  Happy crafting 'til then.

Sending You Love

Good morning and happy first day of Spring.  Springlike weather has been here in Ontario for over a week now.....maybe it's here to stay....or maybe Winter is going to rear its ugly head again for a bit....guess we really have no control over that....but I have been out walking and enjoying this nice weather.  I have spent some time in my craft room too.  On Sunday I visited one of our local scrap booking stores with my girlfriends and it got me inspired to make a couple of things.  Kraftin' Kimmie is having a challenge to follow this sketch designed by Krafty girl, Alice:

Here is my take on it:

I love to follow sketches as it takes the planning stage out of the card for me.  I am a S-L-O-W card maker so at least there is not quite as much thought in a sketch....just the image, the paper, the embellishments.....who am I kidding, it still takes me ages.....LOL!!!

RECIPE:

Card stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ DCWV Green Stack
Image ~ Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps "Snips and Snails"
coloured with Copic markers
Sentiment ~ CARDZ TV stamps "Good Friends"
Circles ~ Creative Memories
Cuttlebug ~ Seeing Spots Embossing folder
Punch ~ EK Success
Flowers, buttons and embroidery floss
from "Use It Up' inventory

Thanks for stopping by today.  Go out and enjoy the beautiful weather but don't forget to make time to craft.

My Latest Obsession.....Ummmm....Project!

Good Morning!  Glad you could come by for a visit today.  I said in an earlier post this week that I would show you the present that I made for my BFF.  Making these has become my latest obsession.....LOL!  Most of you know that I love to knit almost as much as I love to paper craft but sometimes it seems hard to find the time to do both so one usually ends up taking over.  Lately those have been my knitting projects.  Has anyone heard of the yarn called "Sashay" by Red Heart.  It is a yarn in much demand at the moment and where I work we get many, many phone calls daily looking for it.  I was lucky and able to find some and this is the result:

It is a hard yarn to described and these pictures do not really do it justice.  It is a twisted yarn that you pull down as you knit to form ruffles.  It can be knit in different widths depending on the look you want.  The grey one is mine; the blue one I gave to my BFF for her birthday.  And while we were watching the first and second Twilight movies, I knit a whole scarf in shades of pink and charcoal.  These are fun to work on and can be knit in an evening if I ever find more yarn.....and if anyone would like one, I will make them to sell, just e-mail or leave me a comment here.

I am linking these scarves in the Inspire Me Fridays link up party.

Hope you have a GREAT day and until next time, Happy Crafting!!!

"Bestest Friends"

Hello my friends!  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and is looking forward to a great week.  Our weather is becoming very Spring like this week but is also promising some rain.  And day light savings time has begun so it looks like we have all survived another Winter....whoo hoo!!!  Although I think there may be another blast hidden somewhere just waiting to pounce...

This weekend we celebrated my bff, Shari's, birthday.  We did it by having a Girl's Night where we watched all 4 Twilight movies and ate enough junk (with some good stuff thrown in) to last until her next birthday.  LOL!  Shari made us all a great Twilight bookmark which I know she will be sharing on her blog soon so please check it out by visiting Shari's Pink Palace Creations.  They are amazing and I can't wait for you to see her awesome colouring.

So I have her birthday card to share with you today.  I also made her a present which I will share with you later this week  :)  Although I have been scrap booking longer than Shari, she is the one who introduced me to colouring images just a little over a year ago and that is why I used this image on her card.

Friends are Flowers ~ Challenge #69 for Paper Playtime

Good morning, my faithful followers.  I also want to welcome some new friends.  I hope you enjoy it here and continue to come visit and support me.  I am almost at 300....whoo hoo!!!!  Well, it is Monday (BOO....weekend is over and the week is starting....) but that also means a new challenge at Paper Playtime.  Today it is our "Delicious Die Cuts" team's turn....notice the change of name from Cricut Creations, so please feel free to use any die cut machine that you own.....and the theme is "Flowers (for the Girls)".  Since flowers are so popular at the moment in crafting and it is not warm enough here yet for any to be around, I really enjoyed this challenge.  This card actually turned out exactly how I had envisioned it in my head so that is always a bonus.  It is a 5" x 7" card.

Close Up of the flowers:

RECIPE:

Card stock & Patterned Paper ~ Recollections

Thanks for coming by to visit me today.  I thrive to see all of my wonderful fellow crafter and friends come visit and I hope I can inspire you with my creations.  Please join us this week for the challenge at Paper Playtime and show us how you use your flowers from your die cutting machines.

Until next time, take care and happy crafting.
