"6 Months Til Christmas" Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to our monthly blog hop.  It is 6 months today until Christmas.  Not sure about where you are but here where I am it sure feels like Summer (ie. hot and humid) and I could use a little cold about now.  So creating Christmas cards helps with that.  If you have arrived from my bff, Shari, then you are in the correct spot.  If not, you should go see what she has created first and head back over here.  I will have the complete blog listing at the end of this post.

For this month's theme, we were given a photo to use for inspiration.  This photo is at my friend Shari's house when we were over just before Christmas:

For my first card, I used the traditional Christmas colours of red and green for my inspiration:

Patterned Paper ~ Echo Park Very Merry Christmas

Sentiment ~ High Hopes Penguin Greeting

For my second card I used the wreath on the cupcake (which I made as well) for my inspiration:

Card stock ~ Recollections, Bazzill
Patterned Paper ~ Echo Park Very Merry Christmas
Die ~ Memory Box  Small Madison Window
Banner and Sentiment Set ~ Marianne Design Collectibles

Thanks so much for dropping by today.  I hope we could inspire you to think about starting your Christmas projects.  Now you are off to Mary.

Keep crafting and thinking cool thoughts.  Merry Christmas!

Rainbow Apples for the Teacher

Good Morning.  It is Friday and I am sure many of you are looking forward to the weekend.  I was off the past two days and have very long shifts to work over the next few days so no weekend excitement here this time.

Two of my niece's children are finishing school next week ~ one is graduating from preschool and one is graduating from Kindergarten.  Way to go B and C!!!  Aunt Heather is proud of you.  My niece asked me to make cards for each of their teachers.  She needed five so after talking it over we came up with a 3" x 3" notecard set that the kids could write their own message in (with a little help from Mom).  I used the same layout for each just a different colour of the rainbow:

The set:

A close up of a single card:

And each one has a matching envelope:

RECIPE:
Card Stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ Creative Memories
(All paper used was from my scrap bin)
Cricut ~ Paisley cartridge Apple cut at 1 1/4" real dial size
Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink
Stamps ~ Peachy Keen Everyday Face Assortment
~ My Pink Stamper "Everyday Occasions" (Thank you)
Buttons ~ Michael's $1.50 bin
Twine ~ American Crafts
Martha Stewart Scoreboard (for matching envelopes)

I hope the teachers enjoy their cards along with the small gifts they are getting.  I had fun with this set and may do more in the future.

Thanks for coming by again today.  It makes my day to see who visits and leaves me comments.  Have a great weekend.  And, keep crafting!

Chilax!!!

Good Morning!  Wednesday has once again rolled around and it is my turn to post at One Crazy Stamper.

I have used a beaver image from High Hopes Stamps.  Want to know a little secret ~ I first thought this was a frog and almost coloured him green?  LOL!!!  Two things I especially like about this stamp company ~ you can almost always find a sentiment to match your image in their line and they are Canadian :)

The card I have to show you is for the upcoming Father's Day on the weekend for my son.  It uses his two fave colours ~ lime green and orange.

Seaside Dreamin'

Good Wednesday morning, my friends.  Once again it is my day to post at One Crazy Stamper and to follow our monthly challenge theme of "Summer Fun" I have another cutie from Whimsy Stamps Elizabeth Bell.  Originally he was supposed to match the little girl seen HERE but when I started colouring him he went in another direction altogether.  I guess I will just have to do them a different time as a pair.

So, here is Little Jack and Bobbin Seaside Dreamin':

Inside:

RECIPE:
(all linked supplies available at One Crazy Stamper Store, both on line and in store)
Card Stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ Basic Grey Soliel 6" x 6" Pad
Sentiment ~ CARDZ TV "Good Friends" (outside)
~ Michaels $1.50 bin (inside)
Punch ~ Creative Memories Decorative Corner Punch

A close up of the image:

Copics Used: Skin ~ E00, E02, E11, R20; Hair ~ E17, E18; Clothes ~ B21, B23, B24, B26, E40, E42, E43, V91, V93, V95; Sailboat ~ YR21, YR24, E15, W1, 0; Rocks ~ E11, E13, E15, E17, E18; Dog ~ E43, E44, E47, R22; Sand~E21, E23, E25; Grass ~ YG95; Ocean ~ BG10, BG11, BG13; Sky ~ B000,0

I remember when I first started colouring with Copic markers and my BFF, Shari, who introduced me to them,  had many of the "E" family which were all various shades of brown.  I asked her why you would need so many "E"s ~ clearly I understand now as I used many shades of brown (skin is E too) on my little guy today.  :)

Thanks for stopping in.  I hope to "see" you again soon.  Leave me a comment so I can come "visit" you too.
