Paper Playtime Ch#80 ~ Anything Goes Altered Notebook

Good Monday morning.  I hope this finds y'all well and that you had a wonderful weekend.  It is the 5th Monday of the month and when we are blessed with one there is always a one week challenge at Paper Playtime "Anything Goes".  For these challenges I try to create something other than a card just for a change.

For those of you that do not know this about me, I am a list maker ~ I make "To Do" lists, grocery lists, lists of cards I need, lists of design team commitments, and so on and so on......Because I always have a list on the go I try to make them all in one spot so that I can access them easily.  When I first started paper crafting I made myself an altered notebook to put all my lists in one place.  Yesterday I used the last page in that notebook. The first list or note in it is from 2007 ~ it lasted me five years. Here is a pic of it:

So I needed a new notebook for my notes and lists.  I had picked up a notebook on sale at Indigo book store a while back for this purpose and just got around to altering it. Very different style than my last one. It just shows how my style and my supplies have evolved.

RECIPE:

Paper, ribbons, fibers and flowers all from
my "Use It Up" Inventory
Image ~ Sassy Studio Designs
"Denim Debbie" (A Friday freebie)
Copic markers
Spellbinders ~ Nestabilities Labels Nine
Gypsy and Winter Woodland Cricut cartridge for "Notes"

I have put my first list in this book and am looking forward to using it for a while now.

Thanks for coming by today.  Don't forget to join us this week at Paper Playtime for our "Anything Goes" challenge.  Take care, my friends.

"5 Months til Christmas" Blog Hop

Good morning and welcome again to the next installment of our countdown to Christmas.  Five months today is Christmas and if your summer has been as hot and humid as ours has been it is hard to imagine the snow and ice of winter months.  But it will be here before you know it....and this year I will be prepared.

A little bit of info about our hop if you are new.....on the 25th of each month a group of my fellow crafters and I make 2 Christmas cards, one using a die cut machine and one using a stamped image and a colouring medium.  To get the most out of our hop, you need to start at the beginning at Sally's blog.  If you just arrived from Kerry's blog  you are in the right place.  I will have the entire order of the hop at the end of this post and we have 2 new girls joining us this month so let's welcome Sara and Tara B. with some love while you are hopping.

I have my coloured card first.  It looks very much like cards I have posted last Christmas but I wanted to reproduce this card to send to a few relatives this year.

RECIPE:

Card Stock ~ Bazzill and Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ Creative Memories
Image ~ Kraftin' Kimmie "O Holy Night"
Copic markers
Sentiment ~ Kraftin' Kimmie "Nativity Sentiments"
Colorbox Chalk ~ Creamy brown
Button and Twine ~ "Use it Up" inventory

My second card is a new die cut creation.  While I was making it in the 100 degree weather I was hoping it would make me feel cool.....not really.....but the card is cool!! It is more of a "Winter" card than a Christmas card but I do have some people in my life that I like to give a card to at holiday time who do not actually celebrate Christmas.

RECIPE:

Card stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ Three Bugs in a Rug
Cricut Cartridges ~ Elegant Edges
~ Snow Friends 2009-2010
Sentiment ~ CARDZ TV Stamps "Good Friends"
Cuttlebug ~ Snowflakes Embossing Folder
Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch
Colorbox Chalk ~ Creamy Brown
Action Wobble
Stickles ~ Cotton Candy
~ Baby Blue
Various brads, button, jewels, twine from
"Use it Up" inventory

**I would like to enter the snowman card into the challenge at CARDZ TV to use a snowman or snowflake from any Cricut cartridge**

Thanks for coming by to visit me today.   Be sure to come back and visit soon as I will have 2 days of baby shower crafts for you to see.  Your next stop is Sara's blog

Until next time,
keep crafting and "Merry Christmas"

I'm Off...........

Hello my friends.  Today is Friday, July 13th, 2012.  It is also my birthday.  When people would ask what I was doing for my birthday this year I would reply "Getting on my hog (Harley) and riding to Port Dover".  Most of you would be asking yourself "What is she talking about?"  There is a small community in my province that has a motorcycle gathering on every Friday the 13th during the year.  You can read about it HERE!  So here I am on my way:

Okay.....seriously, are you done laughing?  I don't even have a driver's license let alone a motorcycle license but it was fun while it lasted.  Thanks to Shari for taking the pictures and to her neighbour's Mark and Danielle for the use of the bike, jacket and helmet.

I have a card of a Harley to share today.  I used it for a birthday card for a good friend of ours but saved it to show today.

The motorcycle is on an Action Wobble:

Get Well Soon....with a Little Wobble!

Good Morning!  Welcome to Wednesday, the middle of the week and another post here....LOL!!!  Usually people spend less time crafting in the summer because they are outside enjoying pools, beaches, the sun and vacations.  Not me.  I've spent more time in my craft room these last two weeks than I have in a while.  Go me!!

The card I have for you today was made for a dear friend of mine who had surgery a few weeks ago.  I finally got it in the mail to her.  Better late than not at all I guess.  The cute little elephant is on an action wobble.  My friend Janis sent me a couple of Action Wobbles and then I found some at a local scrapbooking store and was so excited.  They are addicting and they even have a new blog Action Wobbles where you can see them in action on lots of fun projects.

The elephant in action:

Fabulous Fifty!!!

Hello my crafting friends!  I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was busy as always with work and errands that don't get finished during the week but I managed to get a little "me" time too and have started creating some fun things for a baby shower in a couple of weeks.

Friday evening we went to a surprise party for one of my "oldest" friends.....I have known Sharon since I was 6 when my family started to attend the church where her family attended.  She was turning 50, so welcome to the club, girlfriend.  This is the card I made for her and I think it is one of my favourite cards I have made so far.  Her husband asked me how long it took me to make it and I answered....."Too long.....but it was worth it".  It was worth it to see the look on my friend's face when she opened it and saw all the details.

Introducing "ROSE"

Good Morning!  It is a balmy, hot and humid week here in most of southern Ontario and besides working I am trying to stay cool.  It seems like all you need is to move and you sweat ~ air conditioning or not.  I'm much more of a Fall/Winter gal and wish this heat would break soon.  I have been spending some time in my pink castle while it has been this hot; guess that is a bonus.

Okay, for you loyal followers of my blog, do you remember the hair colouring fiasco a couple months back?  To jog your memory, no matter how many times I tried I just could not get the long, flowing hair right on my new stamp.  Well, this weekend, I spent some time with my bff, Shari, who is my colouring hero and we worked on hair together.  I am so pleased with the results and hope that I can duplicate it again on my own.  Guess it just takes lots and lots of practice.  So, without further ado, here is "ROSE" ~ a blond version and a brunette version.
