BMX

Hello my crafty friends.  How is your week going?   I am......you guessed it.....still packing.  Truthfully it is almost done and I am well organized for the move in a couple of weeks.  I am excited to be going closer to my family and am looking forward to getting settled in our new area.

My nephew turned 15 about a week ago now.  Masculine and teenage cards all rolled into one ~ definitely something I had to work at.  I know he loves Nascar but I did not have any images or Cricut carts for that.  Another one of his interests at the moment is BMX biking so that was my final choice:

RECIPE:

Card stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ Recollections
Cricut ~ Dude light cartridge
Inside sentiment ~ Teddy Bo & Co.
Cuttlebug ~ Stars embossing folder
Star brads ~ "Use it Up" Inventory

Simple, quick and easy and he really liked it so I guess I scored.  I should probably start thinking about his 16th birthday now, after all, I have a year :)

Good to see y'all today.  Take care and I will see you again soon.

Welcome to Our Little One

Good Monday morning, my friends!  I have had an extremely busy and eventful weekend but not as it was originally planned.  Friday night I got "the text".....baby was on its way.  Shortly after that, and I mean shortly, I got another text that I was a grandmother of a healthy baby boy.  He was in a big hurry to enter this world.  Yesterday we drove the two hours to the hospital and spent most of the day with the new little family.  His name is Evan David born at 5:08pm September 7, 2012 weighing 7 lbs 5 ozs.  This is the card I made to welcome our baby into the world:

RECIPE:

Card stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ Recollections
Image ~ Magnolia Prince Baby Edwin
Copic markers
Sentiment ~ Michaels $1.50 bin
Spellbinders ~ Nestabilities Wonky Rectangles
Cuttlebug ~ Spots and Dots embossing folder
Bakers Twine ~ We R Memory Keepers
Glossy Accents
Buttons ~ "Use it Up" inventory

I also knitted them a blanket.  It was made from Bernat Baby Blanket yarn which was extremely soft to work with.  It reminds me of a fleece blanket and I am sure it will keep our baby so warm :)

Close up to see the pattern:

I have one other picture to share.  It is of my son, daughter-in-law and baby Evan.  My son is not a fan of social media sights and has asked me not to share pictures on line but I do have his permission to post one here:

A big CONGRATULATIONS to Mommy and Daddy.

Thanks for stopping by today to share my big news. Things may be slowing down here at my blog for a bit as I have to pack up my little craft room for our move shortly.  I do have a couple of posts scheduled to go live but I know I won't have too much time for crafting.  I do hope to be back in action and enjoying some "sanity time for me" crafting as soon as I am settled.

Happy Monday and enjoy your week.

Paper Playtime Challenge #83 ~ Gingham

Good Monday morning, my friends.  This is the end of a long weekend for us and many others I believe as well.  It is also the official "end of Summer" where I live as the kids go back to school tomorrow.  Back to routine for lots of folk.  Since I have no school age children anymore that is not an issue for me but it still feels like the end of Summer, although the warm weather usually hangs around for a while yet.  I do have just under a month to pack up the rest of the apartment as we move at the start of October.  Where has the time gone????

Today is the start of a new challenge at the Paper Playtime blog ~ for the next two weeks the challenge is to use a die cut and gingham on your projects.  We are being sponsored by Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps and one lucky entry will win the North American Wood Stamp Set.  This is my card:
