Be My Valentine!

PLEASE NOTE:  This is my second post for the day.  If you are looking for the OCS Design Team post either scroll down or click HERE.

Hi there and welcome to the Action Wobble Design Team Valentine's Blog Hop.  If you have arrived from Susie's blog then you are in the right place.  If you just happened to come by and visit me, go to The Action Wobble blog so that you don't miss out on all the fun.  I will also have a posting of the complete list at the end of this post in case you get lost along the way.

My card for you today is pretty simple but I like the way it turned out and it is the heart on the action wobble that becomes the focus.  I have had many of the things I used on it for years and have just now pulled them out to use so most of it is no longer available ~ guess that makes it truly one of a kind :)

Sunkissed

Good Wednesday morning.  I have some exciting news to share with you today. I have been chosen to the design team of One Crazy Stamper and every Wednesday I will be posting a project on their blog HERE.  I was introduced to this amazing scrapbook store by my best friend, Shari, and also some ladies where I last worked.  They have both a brick and mortar store and an on-line store so please check them out.

For today's card I actually had limited supplies to use that One Crazy Stamper has in stock because unfortunately I have not been there for a while.  That will be remedied soon as I am planning a trip there very shortly :)

This sweet little image from Whimsy Stamps Elizabeth Bell Designs called Sunkissed reminds me that Spring is on its way and I just have to be patient:

"11 Months 'til Christmas" Blog Hop

Good morning, crafting world.  Do you remember our monthly bog hop from last year?  Well it is BACK and I couldn't be more excited to get a jump on Christmas.  The premise of our hop is this......once a month on the 25th a few of my incredibly talented crafty friends show you TWO projects we have made for Christmas.  Our "rules" have changed up a bit this year ~ last year we did two cards, one using a colouring medium and one using some kind of die cut.  That challenged many of us so we tried to think of something different.  And we came up with a THEME for the month to follow with any TWO Christmas projects.  I most likely will stick to cards for the first few months at least as I only had to make a handful of cards by the beginning of November and had my cards mailed on time with little stress because of this jump start.

Our theme for January is SNOWBOUND ~ any two projects with a snow theme.  It could not be more appropriate for the weather we are having right now.  Although there is not a lot of snow it for sure is Winter with temperatures of -15C (with a wind chill of -25C).  And we are expecting a little snow on the weekend to top it all off.

If you have arrived from my BFF, Shari, then you are in the correct spot.  If not, you should go to her blog and start at the beginning of the hop so you don't miss anything along the way. We have a special guest joining us this month and I would like to welcome Nikki, who has a line of fantastic digital stamps which I used on my snowman card.  A link to her company is in the recipe.

Here are my two cards:

Paper Playtime Challenge #2 ~ Use Brown

Good Monday morning, my friends and welcome to my first post of the year for Paper Playtime.  Our challenge numbers started over in January and we no longer have to use a die cut on our projects. The challenge for the next two weeks is to use brown.  Our sponsor is The Robin's Nest with a $15.00 gift certificate to their store.

Lots of people really like the colour brown but for me it is not one of my "go to" colours.  I do not mind it mixed with pink but wanted to challenge myself to go beyond the usual.  So, with no pink in sight, here is my project:

and a close up of the coloured image:

RECIPE:

Card stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ DCWV The Green Stack
Image ~ Kraftin Kimmie Stamps "Sugar and Spice"
Copic Markers
Sentiment ~ Michaels $1.50 bin
Ink ~ Close to my Heart Chocolate
Punch ~ Fiskars Threading Water
Bakers Twine ~ Martha Stewart
Colorbox Chalk Ink ~ Creamy Brown
Flowers and Pearls ~ "Use it Up" Inventory

And although there are no pictures I finished the inside of the card and stamped the back so it is all ready to send to a friend.

Thanks for stopping in today.  Please join us at Paper Playtime and link up your projects using brown.  Can't wait to see what you all create.

Until next time,

'Shroom Wobble

Good Morning and Happy Saturday y'all!!  Today is my bi-weekly post at Action Wobbles.  How fast two weeks goes by.  These little springs are great to use for anything and I am finding they are addicting.  I want to make everything "wobble".

My card today is for the next "holiday" coming up ~ that of the Hallmark one called Valentine's Day.  I am truthfully not a huge fan of the day because I think those you love should know it all the time with the little things you do but still  acknowledge it can be fun too.  I have a wobbling mushroom card.  This card was made completely with things that I had either in my scraps or in my inventory stash.  It felt good to use a small, yes, a very small, part of it up.

and, in case you have never seen one, this is what the action wobble looks like:

The inside (I have kept that resolution so far ~ all the inside of my
cards have been finished):

RECIPE:

Card stock and Patterned Paper ~ Recollections
(but all from my scraps)
Cricut ~ Paisley (mushrooms)
~ Paper Doll Dress Up (grass)
Sentiments ~ Michaels $1.50 bin
Embossing Powder ~ Harmonie Green Fluo
Cuttlebug ~ Swiss Dots embossing folder
Colorbox Chalk Ink ~ Creamy Brown
~ Chestnut Roan
Heart Pearls ~ "Use it Up" Inventory
Action Wobble ~ TSQ Royal Castle Shoppe

Thanks for coming by today.  I hope you are inspired to try on of these springs to get your wobble on....hee hee!!

"Washi" Kinda Girl

Hello my crafting friends (and others who visit here!)  Today is a "just because" post.  Truthfully I have not done one of these in a long time.  Everything I made time to post was for a design team project ~ no time for anything else.  But last week I had a bit of time so I spent it on me.  We all need that once in a while.

I am a scrapbooker at heart.  It is where my passion for paper crafting started and it probably will always be there.  I love to take pictures (much to my families chagrin.) But layouts take me a long time to do.  I need to be less of a perfectionist and just go for it.  Not in my nature though.  But I have found a compromise.  A SMASH book.  Layouts are fun, don't take me as long and do not need to be perfect ~ although my SMASH style is still somewhat "scrapbooky".....

Here is a page in my SMASH book that I created:

It uses strips of most of my Washi tape that I have along with a cute little image and sayings from Saturated Canary "Washi Kinda Girl".  A close up of her coloured with my Copic Markers:

Adding a little dimension to her head is an Action Wobble.  I really wanted her to wobble but she was too heavy for the placement of the wobble and just kinda rocked so I taped the bottom down.  Oh, and just for the record,  I have two more rolls of tape since doing this layout.  Yep, I think I am a little addicted!!

Glad you could come by and see me today.  This month I have a few more things to show you for design teams too so drop in again soon.

P.S.  I found a couple of challenges to add her to (Thanks BFF!!!):   Simon Says "Use Washi Tape",
