Hello to all of my friends. I am taking some much needed family time this weekend as I am actually off all of it, catching up on grandson cuddles and visiting. So, I just wanted to take the time to wish you a wonderful holiday weekend and hope you enjoy your time off. I also want to take some time as a Christian to remind you that Easter is more than just bunnies and Spring. It is the celebration of the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is Risen!! Hallelujah!!
HAPPY EASTER!

Today is my turn to post at One Crazy Stamper and the card I have to show you is happy and cheerful like Spring even if the weather is not where you are.

Happy Easter (Bunny)
Good Morning. I hope you have had a wonderful start to your weekend. It is my turn today to be the featured designer at the Action Wobbles blog. I have a cute card to show you that reflects the upcoming holiday in a couple of weeks. But first, the back story of how I got this cartridge.
I fell in love with the images that I have seen using Teddy Bear Parade Cricut cartridge. Many of you know that I was a teddy bear collector and even tried making bears but found it too hard on my hands. My tattoo is of a teddy bear reminding me of my collection (which has since been purged and packed away). The cartridge was not readily available in Canada. Believe me when I say I checked many Walmarts. And I do not shop on line. My parents were heading to visit some friends in Florida and I asked them to keep an eye out for the cartridge for me. They too visited more than one Walmart with no luck. The friend they were visiting was not one to give up so he went on line and they found the cartridge at Walmart.com. Of course, then the site would not take my Dad's Canadian credit card. Finally their friend was able to use his Paypal account and had the cartridge delivered to their American address after my parents had flown home so the friends brought it home for me and it was picked up last week from the friend's house and I now proudly own the cartridge I have wanted FOREVER. Such a long story but I am so grateful for all the work that went into this I felt I needed to let y'all know how I received this cartridge.
The day after I got it, I made at least 6 of these cute little bears:

Let Them Eat Cake....and Decorate it Too
Good Morning. Today my post is not about paper but about something new I am trying. And getting to spend time with my amazing Mom in the mix. I have worked at a store that offers cake decorating classes for almost 5 years now. I kept saying I wanted to take the classes but my it just never worked out with my schedule. Well, with my new position being mostly evenings, I was able to fit in an afternoon cake class and asked my Mom to come with me and she surprised me and said yes. Now both of us have always baked but we have learned many tips about leveling, filling and icing a cake that are new to us. Here is my first finished class cake:
A close up of the cupcake:
and just to see the dimension of the icing:
It does not look like that anymore. It is half gone already. It is a good thing we really like cake in this house because I have to make at least one more before the end of the class and the next one will have flowers on it :)
And, just because my Dad sent me pictures here is my Mom's finished cake as well:
A close up of the cupcake:
Isn't it interesting how different colours and placement of icing and embellishments like sprinkles can change the look of a cake just like with paper crafting?
Thanks for coming by to view my new adventure. Have a great day as we head to the weekend.
