Celebrate Today!

Good Monday morning!  Welcome to the start of the week and to my blog.  Yesterday was a total disaster in my pink castle ~ I spent all afternoon in there and accomplished NOTHING.  I was trying to work on some stamp challenges and stamped the same image 3 times and each time I absolutely ruined the hair ~ all 3 times.  The first time I had actually coloured the whole image first knowing that hair was what I am the worst at so I started with the hair the next two times ~ still not right.  Frustrated, I started to watch videos on colouring hair with Copic markers which led to me watching other videos which led to me......you get the picture.

I wanted to send a big shout out to my Mom today as it is her birthday.  She is 77 years young and still so active that half the time I never track her down at home as they are always somewhere.  For Mother's Day she received a cell phone so she could text her kids and grandkids ~ way to go Mom!!!!  And guess what, I can now track you down anywhere ~ hee!hee!

I made this card little card using something I learned yesterday watching videos with my Mom in mind because shoes are her thing (how to cut out shaped cards with my Nestabilities on the Cuttlebug).  She LOVES them and collects them too.  This is NOT her card because we have not seen her yet and I know she reads this ~ sorry Mom, no spoilers!

RECIPE:

Card stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ from my BFF as she knew my Mom likes shoes
Spellbinders Nestabilities ~ Labels Nine (it was the largest I had and this card is small,
more like a note card)
Cricut ~ Wedding Solutions shoe cut at 2"
Sentiment ~ My Pink Stamper "Everyday Occasions"
Colorbox Chalk Ink ~ Dark Brown
Bling and bakers twine from "Use It Up" inventory

Thanks for coming by today.  I promise I will get that hair colouring figured out yet and will finish the card I have been working on.  Take care and happy crafting.  Hope to see you soon.

"7 Months til Christmas" Blog Hop

Good morning!  Whoo hoo...it is Friday.  Are y'all looking forward to the weekend?  It is also the 25th of the month of May and that means it is time for our monthly Christmas card blog hop.  The basic premise of our hop is to make 2 Christmas cards a month so that we have some to send out and are not so rushed in the month of December ~  one card uses a stamped, coloured image and one card uses a die cut of some sort.  I am first up on the hop this month but the complete order is at the bottom of this post.  Make sure you visit us all and leave some comment love so we know you did ~ you won't want to miss all the great Christmas cards from my talented friends.

My cards:

Cricut card:
This is a 5" x 5" card. I really wanted to put the sentiment "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" on the outside but it just would not work so this was my compromise. The middle tree is on an action wobble and "rocks" ~ I tried to photograph it in action but it just did not want to co operate.

RECIPE:

Card stock & patterned paper ~ Recollections
Cricut cartridge ~ Winter Frolic (Background trees cut at 5" are all one piece, "rockin" tree
cut at 4")
Colorbox chalk ~ Lipstick Red, Warm Green
Circles ~ Creative Memories
Sentiment ~ Computer generated
Bling ~ skittles from Your Next Stamp
Action Wobble

This card is being entered in the following challenges:
Christmas Card Challenges ~ Week #25 Sketch
Christmas Cards All Year Round ~ May Challenge inspired by a Christmas song (Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree)

Image card:

RECIPE:

Card Stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ Echo Park "Winter Park"
Image ~ digi from Bugaboo Stamps "Make it Snappy" Snowman trio
coloured with Copic markers
Punch ~ Martha Stewart
Stickles ~ Crystal
Bling, ribbon and bells from "Use It Up" inventory

This card is being entered into the following challenges:
Holly Jolly Christmas ~ Anything goes plus ribbon
Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Challenge ~ A Touch of the Blues (use blue)
ABC Christmas Challenge ~ J is for Jingle Bells

So once again thanks for coming by today.  And remember to come again next month (June 25th) when it is only 6 months until Christmas so many of us will have presents for you to help get you in the mood.  Now it's time to hop on over to my friend Tara's blog.

Have a GREAT weekend.  Happy crafting and "Merry Christmas".

Friends are for Hugging

Good Morning, my friends.  I hope you all had a great start to your week and we are in the middle already.  How time flies!

So, on Sunday we did take our car out for a run and went to discover a new area that we had never been to before.  It is a little town called Port Perry about an hour or so east of where we are.  What a wonderful little place ~ lots of shops to explore and a park where we ate our picnic lunch on the water.  Here are a few pictures of our day:

And now my card.  This card was made to send to a friend who has been there for me whenever I need her and has just the right words when I need them.  Although she is miles away from me in another country and we have never met it feels like I have known her for a long time and I would love to be able to reach out and give her a hug for real.

One Layer Card

Good Morning, my friends.  Happy Friday.  It is a LONG weekend here in Canada and I am looking forward to spending some relaxing time.  No real plans, just gonna play it by ear ~ take our "new-to-us" car and drive.  See how she rolls.  Since it is 11 years old already I am sure it won't roll like a race car but will get us places ~ and apparently, that is the main thing.....

The challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps this week was to make a one layer card ~ yes, my friends, you heard that correct ~ a one layer card.  Ummmmm, I don't think I have made a one layer card since I used to make cards as a kid out of construction paper.  So I took up the challenge.  I had a new set of Kraftin' Kimmie stamps that I had purchased at Scrapfest and not inked yet so I used one of them:

And a close up of the image:

RECIPE:

Card stock ~ Copic Xpress It
Image & Sentiment ~ Kraftin' Kimmie "Going Places"
Memento Black Ink
Copic Markers
Martha Stewart scoreboard
Glossy Accents
Button and twine from "Use it Up" Inventory

I like the clean and simple look of this card and am going to make matching ones with the other two images from the stamp set.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps ~ a one layer card
Whimsy Stamps ~ Anything goes
Crafting for All Seasons ~ Celebration and Buttons
Inspire Me Fridays ~ Anything goes

Thanks all for dropping by today.  I would love to know you were here so please leave me a comment so I can come visit you as well.  Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Jeremiah 29:11

Good morning, my friends.  I was browsing through my digital stamps and my Facebook profile and I found this verse on there twice....one on the page of a favourite author of mine (Karen Kingsbury) and once from Dee's Bugaboo Boutique where she shares a weekly Scripture verse in word art.  My hubby and I have been going through some difficult times.  Some decisions have been made.  Some still have to be made.  Some are made and can not be shared yet as timing isn't right.  BUT through it all this time, I finally feel at peace.  Continue to pray for us.  Continue to send us good thoughts if prayers aren't for you.  Thank you to my good friends for seeing me through this.  There still is a LONG ways to go!

But I am going to print this verse and make something special with it where I can see it and go from there.

Have a GREAT day, y'all!!!!

Paper Playtime Challenge #74 ~ Diecut Divas "Bugs"

Good Monday morning, yet again, my friends.  It seems like Monday rolls around faster all the time.  I had an extremely busy weekend and need to play "catch up" both in my house and in my craft room this week.

It is time for another challenge at Paper Playtime Diecut Divas.  This time we challenge you to use a bug on your card cut with any die cutting machine.  Okay, so absolutely anyone who knows me (or is even vaguely acquainted with me IRL) knows that I hate bugs of any kind....especially butterflies.....I can hear the gasps as most people think they are beautiful....so this really was a challenge for me.  I actually had to cut out one of these creatures called a bug and add it to one of my creations.....NO!!!!!  I don't even really like the cartoon bug cuts that other people think are cute...they're just all BUGS to me.  But I had purchased a stamp set recently that made it easier for me to make this card.  You will see why when I add the picture.  And, ummmmm, I do like the way it turned out (even if there is one of those things on it...Hee!hee!)

RECIPE:

All card stock, patterned paper and embellishments
from my "Use It Up" inventory
Cricut ~ Forever Young ~ daisy cut at 3 1/4"
~Just Because Cards ~ ladybug cut at 4" (part of a card and needed to
make both layers fit properly)
~Elegant Edges ~ Leaves cut at 1 3/4" as well as shadow
Colorbox Chalk ~ Charcoal
Sentiment ~ CARDZ TV stamps "Think Spring"

Thanks for coming by today.  Please join us this week at Paper Playtime and share your creations with bugs.  You could win a $20 VISA gift card sponsored by my DT sister, Lynn.

Have a GREAT Monday!!
