Little Red Wagon Challenge #261 ~ Krafty!

Hello my friends.  Welcome to another Wednesday (man, the weeks are just flying by!) and another challenge at Little Red Wagon.  This week our hostess is Janice and she wants us to get Krafty ~ use kraft paper on your project and link it up HERE.

The holidays are sneaking up on us and I know I won't be ready so I chose another holiday project to make,  While I have been out browsing the holiday decorations in the stores the last couple of times I have noticed that decor with a rustic feel seems to be very in this year.  So using kraft to make a rustic tag was appropriate for this week's challenge.  Lots of distressed edges and twine gives it that rustic feel.  What did not show up that well is that I stamped a snowflake image on the tag with Versamark before I inked it with Tim Holtz distress ink to actually give the tag itself a bit of vintage. I stamped the image onto kraft card stock and coloured it with my Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits instead of my usual medium, Copic markers.

PDE Linky Easel Cards ~ Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Good Morning!!  Welcome to a new challenge at PDE Linky Party.  Our challenge is easel cards.  Visit the blog and see what all of my design team sisters have made and join us with an easel card of your own.  If you don't know how to create an easel card there are many tutorials out there on YouTube or Pinterest ~ just search for easel cards.

I have made easel cards before and wanted a challenge for myself too so I began to search for a different kind of easel card and boy was I surprised at all the many kinds there are.  I finally made a variation of a couple of the cards I saw ~ an easel card with four tiny drawers to place treats in.  I photographed it from all angles so here are a few pictures of my fun project (which seriously took me WAY longer than I had anticipated ~ but I do like it if I say so myself....LOL!)

RECIPE:
Card Stock and Patterned Paper ~ Recollections
Doily ~ Local dollar Store
Spellbinders Shapabilities Layered Poinsettia
Sentiment ~ Kraftin Kimmie Holiday Lulu and Libby
Close to my Heart Chocolate Ink
Ribbon ~ Offray
Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink
Bling, Brads ~ Recollections

So now I can use this as both a gift box and a card come Christmas time.  Any suggestions on what to put in those cute little drawers?  My hubby thought chocolates; I think some great pieces of jewelry.
Shows how men and women think differently.

Come join us this week and link up your easel cards HERE.  Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Little Red Wagon Challenge #259 ~ Spooky! Spooky!!

Happy Wednesday and welcome to my first challenge as hostess at Little Red Wagon.  The theme of my challenge is "SPOOKY! SPOOKY!!" ~ create anything Halloween themed and link it up HERE.

Now, as I am sure you have heard me mention once or twice if you have been following me for a while, I am not much of a Halloween fan.  I do enjoy seeing the little ones dressed up in costumes and the fun that goes along with that but I do not enjoy the scary and graphic content that is now associated with Halloween.  So my card today is much more cutesy than spooky and it uses the only Halloween image that I own.  :)

Little Red Wagon Challenge #258 ~ Give Thanks

Good Wednesday morning.  Welcome to another challenge at Little Red Wagon.  This week our hostess is Tracy and her challenge is GIVE THANKS.  This is a perfect challenge for us in Canada as we begin to prepare for Thanksgiving this weekend.  So make any kind of project with the theme of thanks and share with us HERE.

Before I show you my  card, let me preface it by saying that it is NOT the card I pictured in my head and when you wait until the last minute to get your project done, there is no time to fix it or find the supplies you really wanted......so, I think my card looks more like a fall project than one of thanks.  I searched my entire craft room for my "HAPPY THANKSGIVING" sentiment and still have not found it.  I also wanted to try something different and not colour up an image but not sure I like the punch art that it the finished product. But anyhow, here it is:

First Challenge for a New Design Team ~ Little Red Wagon Challenge #257

Good Morning, my peeps!!  Welcome to my first post as a new designer for Little Red Wagon.  It will be a weekly challenge so make sure you check back EVERY Wednesday to see the new theme.  This week our hostess is Jayne and her theme is STITCHING ~ Real or Faux.  Create a project containing stitching and link it up HERE.

My card today uses a retired stamp from My Favorite Things called Knit Happens.  Knitting is another one of my many hobbies and I was impressed that I could combine two of my favorite things to make this card.  I will most likely knit a cup cozy, add a mug and some hot chocolate and give this all as a gift.  Just not sure to whom yet. I would have loved to have added real stitching to my card but unfortunately my sewing machine no longer works.  Oh well, the faux kind is fine too.
