Little Red Wagon Challenge #322 ~ Happy New Year

Hello there.  Thanks for dropping by for my last post of 2015 and it happens to be a Wednesday so it is a new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  Hostessing today is Donna and her challenge is HAPPY NEW YEAR.  I found this a challenge as I don't usually make anything for New Year's so I got out my stamp collection and began to look through to see if something would work.

I used this stamp called "Girls Night Out" by Your Next Stamp, colouring the ladies up with my Copics.  I used black and white with a pop of red to give it an elegant look.  Lots of silver and bling create the finishing touches.  The sentiment  on the inside is made up of a stamp set by JUSTWORDZ.  And, viola, a New Year's Project.

Happy Anniversary...to Me!!!

Well, technically, it is Happy Anniversary to us (my hubby and I) but I just liked this title better.  We have been married for 12 years today.  It was a bright, sunny day and the temperature was not cold as I recall being able to get a few pictures outside.  There were about 21 of us who enjoyed the ceremony and reception dinner at the Doctor's House in Kleinberg.  December and Christmas have always been my favourite time of year so that is why the timing.

This is the card I made for my hubby today.  It features an image from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps called "Sending All My Love" coloured up with my Copic markers.  Sentiments are from Pointer Scrapbooking and Michael's $1.50 bin.  Patterned paper is BoBunny Altitude.  I wanted something completely different from Christmas colours :)

PDE Linky Party ~ Always Anything Goes!!!

Good Morning!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Now that I got that out of the way we have a new challenge today (yes, even on Christmas, you have all week to join) at PDE Linky Party.  And it is always Anything Goes so grab your new crafty supplies (or ones you have had forever) and make us a project to link up.

This was not what I had originally wanted to post for today but alas, it was one of the cards finished before the deadline so this is the one you see.  I coloured this cat stamp up with my Copics for my hubby.  He wants a cat so badly and I don't and it makes him grumpy just like this kitty.

To all my family and friends, please have a wonderful day and remember the true reason we celebrate this season ~ the birth of our Saviour.  Thanks for your support and comments this year in my small part of the crafting community.

And join us at PDE Linky Party this week.  You know you wanna.  :)

Little Red Wagon Challenge #321 ~ Sparkle and Shine

Good Morning!!  Wow, I can hardly believe it is only two days until Christmas.  The month of December has just flown by.  I am ready for some time away from work to relax with my family.

Today starts a new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  Our hostess this challenge is Brenda and she wants us to "SPARKLE AND SHINE" ~ use glitter, foil, gems, etc.~ great for Christmas projects.

These little tags were made with the tag maker punch from Creative Memories.  I used a set of stamps from JUSTWORDZ to stamp the to, from and Merry Christmas and embossed with silver embossing powder.  The snowflakes were a Martha Stewart punch of one glittery and one metallic paper.  A clear gem in the center is the finishing touch.  It was hard to get all of the sparkle and shine in a photograph but they are pretty glittery in real life.

So, why not check out what the other girlfriends have made and then join us so we can see how you SPARKLE AND SHINE.

Have a great day!!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #320 ~ Let's Get Sketchy

Hello friends and fellow crafters.  It's time for a new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  This week our hostess is Jan and her challenge is "LET"S GET SKETCHY" ~ we are to use the following sketch for our cards.

I enjoy using sketches and will often go in search of them on Pinterest as a starting point so this was a fun challenge for me.  This card is for my oldest grandson for Christmas.  You may have seen a theme in my challenge posts for Little Red Wagon for the past three weeks ~ all three were the cards I sent my grandchildren.  All three used images from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  This little guy is from the Christmas Cheer set coloured with my Copic markers. His onesie is paper pieced.  Patterned paper is from Craft Smith Holiday Basics.  Christmas bling is from my stash.

Come on over to Little Red Wagon and see the take on this sketch from the other girlfriends and then give it a try of your own.  Looking forward to seeing some great takes on it.

I would like to enter this into the Kraftin' Kimmie Wonderful Wednesday Challenge.

Have a good day!!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #319 ~ Snow Much Fun!!!

Hey everyone!  Well,  Christmas is getting closer every day.  Are you ready?  I actually am almost there, just have a few more special cards to make.  Because I didn't buy anything new this year some people may end up with "recycled" images (that is, the same image I used for them before) but if I colour it differently and use different patterned paper it will look different, right?  Anyhow, you did not come to hear my Christmas tales.

Today begins a new challenge at Little Red Wagon and Joanne/Jan are our hostesses.  Their challenge for us is "SNOW MUCH FUN" ~ they want to see snow on your projects.

I guess you could say I kinda cheated for this one but my paper and embellishments are snow related even if the image is not.  This card is for my newest grandson as it is his first Christmas.  The image is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps called "Christmas Cheer" coloured with my Copics. I used BoBunny Altitude for the patterned paper, a Martha Stewart snowflake punch and some ribbon for the embellishments and Spellbinders Nestabilities to frame him.

And a slightly blurry close up of the image
(I took the pictures and sent the cards off before I checked them):

Why not think cold and snow this week (even if there is none where you are like here as our temperatures are extremely mild for this time of year) and head on over to Little Red Wagon to see what the other girlfriends have made for inspiration.  Then link up a snow project of your own.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday.

Little Red Wagon Challenge #318 ~ Traditional Christmas Colours

Good morning.  Welcome once again (as I say EVERY week because it is the only time I seem to be posting) to Wednesday and a new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  Today it is my turn to hostess and my challenge for you all is entitled "TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS COLOURS".  I want to see traditional Christmas colours for you, even if that means something different than what most people immediately think of.

So I caved myself and used red, green and white but my "go to" colours around the house are green, burgundy and gold.  They have been that way for a long time and who knows, I may change it up next year if I get around to redecorating the living room like I want to.  Anyhow, I digress.......

My card features a stamp from a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps set called "Joyful Holiday".  I just think she is so cute with her reindeer antlers sporting those decorations.  I coloured her up with my Copic markers and used red, white and green card stock from Recollections, patterned paper from my stash (and so old I have no idea where I got it from) and some red and green bling.  A cute card for my granddaughter.

and a close up of Lulu with her antlers:

So, grab a beverage of your choice, head on over to Little Red Wagon and be sure to check out what all of the other girlfriends have done for my challenge.  Then head to your craft space and create a project of your own featuring TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS COLOURS (for you).  Be sure to link it up.  I promise to visit each and every one.

Have a great day!!!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #317 ~ That's How We Roll

Morning.  Well that day of the week has rolled around on the calendar and it is time for a new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  Our hostess is Carolyn and her challenge is entitled "That's How We Roll" ~ it's all about transportation ~ trains, planes, automobiles, bicycles, boats, etc.  If it gets you somewhere it applies.

This card is dedicated to my friend Joanne ~ she will know why.  She loves bicycles so when I found this cute image from Krafting Kimmie Stamps called "Going Places" I knew it was the one I needed to use.  Black, pink, grey and white are the colours of choice on this card and the patterned paper from Echo Park Jack and Jill fit in perfectly.  A few embellishments and we are good to go (pun intended ~ LOL!)

So glad you came by to visit.  Head on over to Little Red Wagon, check out the great inspiration from all of the other girlfriends, leave us some love and then link up a transportation project of your own.

Until we meet again, keep crafting.  Enjoy your Wednesday!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #316 ~ Technique Card

Hey there.  It's Wednesday again (as I say every week) and time for a new challenge at Little Red Wagon. Our hostess this week is Mandy and she has asked us to make a technique card. There are lots of ideas and videos on Pinterest and YouTube that feature some type of technique card.  When I started to browse I came across a version of the z fold card that I wanted to try.

The card starts with a 5 1/2" x 12" piece of cardstock scored at 2", 4" and 8".  The sky is patterned paper by Wild Rose Studio.  The reindeer and front sentiment are Your Next Stamp.  Inside sentiment is Hero Arts.  All again made from things I already owned.  I am doing well on that challenge I made for myself.

Inside of the card (behind the sky):

A side view to see the z fold:

Glad you were able to drop by.  Head on over to Little Red Wagon, check out what all of the other girlfriends have made for their technique cards and try one of your own.

PDE Linky Party ~ Always Anything Goes

Well hello there and HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!  I haven't posted yet since there were some great changes at PDE Linky Party.  It's every Friday and it is always ANYTHING GOES ~ so that means if you made it, stamped it, die cut it, paper pieced it, scrapbooked it, refurbished it, remodeled it, crocheted it, knit it, quilted it, sewed it, painted it ~ you get my point ~ it all counts.  No theme to follow, just your creativity and imagination.

My project for today's ANYTHING GOES  is a masculine birthday card.  Masculine cards are hard for me as I can't use flowers or bling so when I saw this tool set of clear stamps at the dollar store I knew it would be a good investment.  The tools were coloured up with my Copics. I used the basket weave Cuttlebug embossing folder to give it  some texture and lots of ink for a distressed look.  The banner is made from a tiny punch and individual letters of a stamp set also from the dollar store.

Thanks for dropping by.  Come on over and link up your project this week at the PDE Linky Party.  You just may be chosen as a party pick.

Have a great day and a wonderful weekend.

Little Red Wagon Challenge #315 ~ Turkey Day

Hello and happy Wednesday.  Today is Remembrance Day in Canada and I just want to take this opportunity to thank our veterans of any kind for their service and for the fact that I am free.  I wear my poppy proudly today to honour you.

It is also a new challenge at Little Red Wagon and our hostess today is Donna.  She has called her challenge TURKEY DAY ~ she wants to see a turkey on your projects.  "Turkey day" for Canada is always the second Monday of October and I know my US friends are looking forward to their "turkey day" in a couple of weeks.  As I have mentioned before I am trying to use only things in my stash at the moment so I wasn't sure what I was going to use for this project.  When I started to check through my stamps I found this teddy bear scarecrow from High Hopes stamps that includes a turkey so I coloured it up with my Copics.  Card stock is Recollections, patterned paper was found in my scraps (and is now all gone) and embellishments were from my stash.

Check out the inspiration from the other girlfriends at Little Red Wagon and join us for our TURKEY DAY Challenge.

Enjoy the rest of your day!!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #314 ~ Mix It Up!!

Good evening.  Due to some technical difficulties yesterday and the fact that I had to go work today I am late posting this.  All good now and I am glad to be able to participate.  There is a new challenge at Little Red Wagon today and Brenda is our hostess.  She is calling her challenge MIX IT UP ~ she wants to see three patterned papers on your projects.

I have a Christmas card that uses three patterned papers.  It is a great way to use up tiny scraps.  The card stock is from Recollections; the patterned paper is from Echo Park Very Merry Christmas.  Cuttlebug embossing folder is D'vine Swirls.  Banner die cut is Your Next Stamp and the sentiment is Hero Arts embossed with white embossing powder.  Twine is from my stash for the handles.  The tissue paper and bling were both white and I coloured them with a Copic marker to match the paper.  I think this would be a wonderful card to make in assembly line process and use as "the" card to send out.  I am still experimenting to see which one I want to use.  I have a few others I am working on as well.

And here is a side shot to see the dimension of the shopping bags:

Head on over to Little Red Wagon and see all the incredible inspiration from the other girlfriends and join us with a project of your own featuring three different patterned papers.  Can't wait to see what you create.

Thanks for dropping by.  It seems like lately all the crafting I have time for is my Wednesday design post.  I would like that to change but we shall see as I fear that things will just get busier at this time of year.  Enjoy the rest of your day!!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #313 ~ Ghost and Goblins (or Other Halloween Creatures)

Good Morning. So yep, another week has rolled around and it is time for a new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  Our hostess for this week's challenge is Jan and her challenge is GHOSTS AND GOBLINS OR OTHER HALLOWEEN CREATURES.  Well, I am just going to put it out there that I dislike Halloween immensely (Sorry Jan) and was totally stuck as to what to do for this challenge.  Always around this time of year I dread the design teams I am on because inevitably there will be some kind of Halloween challenge thrown in there somewhere.  But I sucked it up and tried to come up with something.

My stash didn't include a lot to work with either but I went with "traditional" Halloween colours of black and orange from my distress inks using the masking tape technique for the base of my card. The clear stamps  I believe I bought from the Michael's $1.50 bin at some point in my career there.  I embossed them in white and black to stand out. Throw in a bit of baker's twine and two big buttons and a card is created.

Thanks for dropping by.  Head on over to the Little Red Wagon blog and check out all the inspiration from the other girlfriends (whom I am sure came up with something better than I).  And if you are so inclined dip into your wagon (or stash) and show us your Halloween creatures.

Have a WONDERFUL Wednesday.

Little Red Wagon Challenge #312 ~ Home is Where the Heart Is

Hello there.  Well, it is that time again ~ the middle of the week and time for a new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  I hope you enjoyed the tag challenge last week.  Our hostess this week is Joanne and her challenge is titled "HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS".  She wants to see you use a house on your card or project.

I am kinda on a budget freeze for crafting supplies at the moment so everything I have used lately is something I have either used before or had in my stash.  The house is a retired stamp from Your Next Stamp, and the patterned paper is from BoBunny Altitude.  The sentiment with matching die cut is from Marianne Designs. Some snowflake embellishments and some crystal snow add the finishing touches.

A close up of the house:

So now head on over to Little Red Wagon, check out what all of the other girlfriends have made and then link up a project featuring a house of your own.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Your Next Stamp Sketch and Colour Challenge #25  ~ I used the sketch
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Wonderful Wednesday ~ Always Anything Goes

Have a great day!!!
