Are you dizzy yet??  Good morning.  Time once again for a new Wednesday challenge at Little Red Wagon and this week our hostess is our other new girlfriend, Collette.  Her challenge is ROUND AND ROUND AND ROUND WE GO....absolutely no squares or right angles, nothing 90 degrees.  Think circles and ovals.

Yep, think circles and ovals.  I thought long and hard about circles and ovals.  And even though I do have a card to show you it is not the card in my head.  This was a TRUE challenge for me, to say the least.  I tried and I tried,,,,,and walked away as many times as I tried.  So, here it is, in all its roundness with no coloured image to boot.  Two weeks in a row....WOW!!!

RECIPE:
Card Stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ Dovecraft Princess Fairytale
Spellbinders Nestabilities Petite Scalloped Circles (LG)
Creative Memories Circle Cutters
Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch
Sentiments ~ CARDZ TV "Think Spring"

Glad you dropped by today.  Link up your corner-less creation at Little Red Wagon for a chance to be featured.

Have a GREAT day and until next time, keep crafting!!

Another Card of Love and A Creative Blog Hop

Good Monday morning.  For those of us in Ontario and some of the other Canadian provinces who celebrate today, I wish you a happy Family Day.  I hope you are enjoying your holiday and are spending some time with your family as the name of the day implies.

Today I was asked to participate in a CREATIVE BLOG HOP by my fellow Canadian crafter, Karla ~ Creative Love Affair.  Thanks for including me Karla.  It means a lot.

There are four questions on this hop that I need to answer so here goes.  Following the questions, I will have a card to show you too.

1.  What are you working on now?
Right at the moment, I am working on some design team commitment projects for the next few weeks.  But I also need to make a couple of birthday cards for special people in my life and Easter cards for my grand kids.  I promised myself I would not get behind in both commitments and personal projects I needed to do this year.  So far so good!!!

2.   How does your work differ from others in your genre?
This question was a tough one for me.  I am not sure how my work differs except to say that every one's style is different and I admire lots of styles and emulate a few of them but hope  I have developed a "style" of my own.

3.  Why do you create what you do?
I create scrapbook pages to preserve the memories for the next generation.  I create cards as a way of giving myself to others on special occasions.  And yes, I create what I do for design team obligations too. But creativity is so much a part of me I would not survive without it in my life.  It is my way of dealing with stress.

4.  How does your creative process work?
My creative process for things can be pretty chaotic at times and my mind changes as the project progresses from start to finish that is for sure.  When creating a card, I will choose the image first and then think of colours I would like to use for colouring.  At this point, I pick out paper to match so that I know the colours will go.  Sometimes I use a sketch as my starting point and go from there.  Embellishments are always chosen last. I never stick anything down until I am certain I want it to go there and that is one of the last things I do as elements are arranged and rearranged many times.  I am not fast at creating and enjoy the therapeutic effects it gives me.  I don't create well under pressure.

This is the card that I made for my hubby for Valentine's Day.

RECIPE:
Copic Xpress It Card Stock
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Copic Markers
Card Stock ~ Recollections, Bazzill
Patterned Paper ~ My Mind's Eye Filled With Love

Canvas Hearts ~ Recollections

Thanks once again for dropping in today.  I hope you learned a little more about me and my creative journey.  And, please remember to visit my friend, Anita at her blog ~ Scrappy Happy Mommy, next Monday, February 23 for the next stop on the CREATIVE BLOG HOP.

Valentine's Day Is........

Thought that might get your attention.  Valentine's Day is.....what is your answer?  For many years Valentine's Day to me was a made up commercial day that had florists and chocolate manufacturers jumping for joy.   It was a day where there was romance everywhere you looked.  The expectations I put on myself and others NEVER lived up to the image in my head. It was NEVER perfect. But for me this year, I am choosing to put a positive spin on things.  I am choosing to celebrate the people in my life with all of their imperfections.  I am choosing to spend tomorrow being happy, not grumpy because things weren't as planned (or lack of plans in most cases that disappointed me!) I chose to make and send Valentine's cards to my grandchildren which you can see HERE.  I am choosing on Monday to have the card up that I made for my hubby as part of a creative blog hop.  And it will be after Valentine's Day because I am blessed with a wonderful husband who is part of my creative support system, that is, he reads this blog.  I am choosing to make treats with my Mom and spending time laughing as we get it right.  I am choosing joy.

I do have a creative project to share with you today.  It is a Valentine's card that I made for an on-line friend whom I have never met as part of a swap.  My hobby has given me a chance to meet some incredibly talented people and I am so glad I get to be a part of the paper crafting world on line.  One goal for this year.....to grow that connection.

RECIPE:
Copic Xpress It Card Stock
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Copic Markers
Card Stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ Doodlebug Lovebugs
Spellbinders ~ Nestabilities Lacey Ovals
~ Nestabilities Classic Ovals (LG)
Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink
Sentiments ~ Michaels $1.50 Bin
~ My Creative Time "Just A Note to Say"
Ink~ Memento Rosebud
Stickles ~ Xmas Red
Canvas Heart ~ Recollections
Glossy Accents
Flowers, Bling ~ "Use It Up" Inventory

I am glad you could come by.  And to all who are celebrating tomorrow, I wish you a HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!  And to those of you who are not enamored with the day like me,  I wish you joy.

Little Red Wagon Challenge #276 ~ Winter Washi Land

Good morning!!!  Yep, it's that time in the week again where I ask you to join me for the next challenge at Little Red Wagon.  Our hostess for this week is one of our new girlfriends, Susie, and she wants us to walk in a WINTER WASHI LAND ~ or to put it in different terms, use washi tape on your project.  :)

I made a very simple card with no colouring involved for this week.  I think it would be great for a masculine birthday card or for a friend who was into photography.  The use of the black and white only makes it seem more dramatic.

Inside:

RECIPE:
Card Stock ~ Recollections
Washi tape ~ Recollections
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder ~ Spots and Dots
Camera Stamp ~ Inkadinkadoo
Sentiments ~ Inkadinkadoo
Versamark Ink
Stampendous White Embossing Powder
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Bling ~ Studio G Clear Rhinestones coloured with
C9 Copic Marker

Glad you were able to visit today.  Take some time to craft and link up to our WINTER WASHI LAND challenge at Little Red Wagon this week.  Have a great day!!!

Valentine's Cards ~ Kraftin' Kimmie Style ~ for the Little People in my Life

Hey there.  Yep, I know.  I have not got my days confused.  I know it is Friday and some of you are looking forward to a great weekend.  Me...well I work retail so enough said about that.  But I did say a couple of posts ago (like two weeks now) that I was going to try and post more between challenges for my design teams.  Here is one of those posts.

Last weekend was my one weekend off a month.  So I had a girl's weekend with my BFF, Shari, and we crafted almost the whole time.  It was also a celebration weekend for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps as Kim has reached 2,000 fans on her Facebook page and she celebrated her birthday this week too.  It was an on line crop where we had challenges every two hours.  My personal goal for the weekend was to get my butt in gear and get Valentine's in the mail for my grandchildren.  Combining all of the above, I can say that these two little cards are entered into two of the challenges and are winging their way across country to my grand babies....and on time even.

All of the challenges were sketches with an added twist.

Until next time, keep crafting.

Little Red Wagon Challenge #275 ~ Peek~A~Boo!!!

Hello there, my friends.  Today starts a new challenge at Little Red Wagon and our hostess for this week is Carolyn.  Her theme is PEEK~A~BOO ~ meaning she wants you to create a project with a window in it.  The over ambitious girlfriend that I am I made two cards for this theme.....one is a literal translation of a window and the other one is a cut out window.

This is the literal window card.  I thought it looked like a good card to make into a sympathy card as I never seem to be in the mood to make one of them when I need it.

Inside:

RECIPE:
Card Stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ Authentique Summer
Window Die ~ Memory Box Small Madison Window
Trees ~ Stamping Up Lovely As A Tree
Sentiments ~ My Pink Stamper Everyday Occasions
~ CARDZ TV Encouraging Thoughts
Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink
CTMH Chocolate Ink
Crimper
Stampendous Crystal Snow
Flowers ~ Prima
Bling ~ Kaisercraft, Recollections

For the cut out window I used a tutorial I found HERE on Pinterest.  These cards are known as flip cards if any of you would like to see more examples.  Mine is pretty simple and straight forward but it will be a great note card to send to someone needing a bit of encouragement in these Winter months.

RECIPE:
Card Stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ BoBunny Altitude
Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Eight
Sentiment ~ Michaels $1.0 Bin
Versamark Ink
Stampendous White Embossing Powder
Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink
Snowflake Punch ~ Martha Stewart
Gems ~ Kaisercraft Island Lagoon

Thanks for dropping by once again.  I appreciate all of your visits. Come see what all of the girlfriends have made and join the PEEK~A~BOO challenge at Little Red Wagon this week. See you there.
