Old or New Trends ~ Little Red Wagon Challenge #461

Hello there.  It's been a while since I last posted.  Life has really got in the way, some good and some bad.  But, today begins a new challenge at Little Red Wagon  and I have a project to share.  Imke is our hostess and her theme is Old and New Trends.

I try not to jump on the bandwagon for the newest trends when they first come out for budget reasons.  So I went back to using something that I did on a fairly consistent basis on my cards but no longer do as much. I inked all of the edges and I really like the way they make the image and paper pop.  You may see more of this "older" trend from me in the future.  Stamp and sentiment are Kraftin' Kimmie Party Animals coloured with Copics.  Patterned paper and enamel dots are Simple Stories Let's Party.

And, not really a trend, but something I again used to do on a consistent basis and have not been doing, I finished the inside of this card as well.

This card is on its way across the country for my grandson's 6th birthday later this month.

So head on over to Little Red Wagon, check out the inspiration from the other girlfriends and link up a project containing a trend, new or old, of your own.  Looking forward to seeing what you create.

Have a great day!!

August Plan With Me

Hi there.  Today I want to show you my August set up of my bullet journal.  I have been using a bullet journal for about two years now on and off after being introduced to the system by my daughter-in-law.  Planning helps me organize my life and get things done.  And I have also found it is such a great creative outlet as well.

My bullet journal is an emerald Leuchtturm 1917 in the 8" x 5.5" size.  Markers are Faber-Castell PITT artist pens (black) in the sizes XS, S and B.  Gold and yellow are Crayola Supertips.  The theme for August is fairy lights.

First off is my cover page.

Next, is my monthly calendar.  I add all of the events I want to remember in the squares.

Then we have my daily review.  In this spread I colour code how my day was and write a couple of lines or a quote that I want to remember for that day.

The next page is my daily gratitude log.  I write down one thing that I am grateful for a day whether big or small.  The second half of this page is my creative commitments for the month.  I filled it in already so there are some hints here of my design team month to come...oops!

Following that is my habit tracker.  These are habits that I want to do on a daily basis.  It is interesting to see how my day affects the habits that are actually done.  I can see how my energy affects my productivity by tracking habits as well.

Lastly, we have the first weekly entry.  I used a technique called a dutch door where I cut a page in my journal in half and use each daily space to write down my tasks.  One side is for weekly events and the other is for a tiny month with the week highlighted.  And, of course, a Bible quote.

And there you have it.  It's how I set up my bullet journal for the month of August.  Let me know in the comments if you would like to see more of my bullet journal or if you have any questions.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great weekend.

Sketchy Times ~ Little Red Wagon Challenge #457

Hey there.  Welcome to a new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  I am your hostess this week and the theme I have chosen is SKETCHY TIMES ~ I want to see you use your favourite sketch for your project whether it be a card or a scrap book layout.  Sketches are a great start to your creativity and are my "go to" when I need that jump start.

I used the Kraftin' Kimmie July monthly sketch pictured here:

And here's my take on it. Stamp and sentiment are from Kraftin Kimmie Magical Friends set coloured with Copics.  Patterned paper is Echo Park Imagine That.

Now it's your turn.  Head on over to Little Red Wagon, check out the inspiration from my amazing talented design team girlfriends and then link up a sketchy project of your own.  Don't forget to state the source of your sketch.  I'm looking forward to seeing all your makes this week.

Have a GREAT day!!
