Autumn Greetings

Hello.  I have a very special card to show you today for more than one reason.  It was a card I made at a card class at a scrapbooking store. If you are local to the Kitchener area or if it is within driving distance, you must come visit Two Scrapbook Friends and take a class with Stephen Kropf.  It is special to me because 1) I LOVE Autumn/Fall and 2) Stephen's father drew the image and Stephen was able to walk us through colouring it.  Supplies were all provided in a kit.

See, wasn't I right?  It is a gorgeous Fall scene.  I actually bought one more and am going to design a card of my own with it and maybe change up the colours a bit too.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great Friday and a good weekend.

Little Red Wagon Challenge #417 ~ What's Red All Over?

Good morning.  My, how the week's fly by and I will have that card I promised last week up sometime this week (hint, hint...Friday) in case you were wondering.  Life seems to get away as it does for all of us sometimes.  Welcome to another Wednesday and a new challenge for Little Red Wagon.  Jan is our hostess and she has called her challenge "What's Red All Over?"  Can you guess what she wants to see on your project....that's correct, red.  While you don't have to use all red the majority of your project needs to be red, not just a tiny embellishment :)

Like the good girlfriend that I am, I stuck to the rules and my card is a definite monochromatic of red.  Since the photograph I added a few clear sequins for a bit of sparkle.  Image and sentiment are from Kraftin' Kimmie Merry and Bright Birdies and Christmas Blessings.  Paper is Lawn Fawn Knit Picky.

Head on over to Little Red Wagon, check out the inspiration from the other girlfriends and link up a red project of your own this week.

Thanks for coming by.  Have a great day!!!!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #416 ~ Shape Up!

Hey there and welcome to a new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  Our hostess is Brenda and she wants us to SHAPE UP~ now I am thinking it is not in the form of exercise and sweat but in the form of shaped projects.  Anything but a rectangle or square.

Truthfully I am not a huge fan of shaped cards or even of how to make them so I went with another shape that is pretty common and made a circular shaker tag for a Christmas gift.  Stamp set is Lawn Fawn Here We Go A-Waddlin' and paper is Lawn Fawn Perfect Plaid Christmas.

Well that's it for today.  Short and sweet, but you head over to Little Red Wagon, check out the inspiration from the other girlfriends and link up a shaped project of your own.

Thanks for dropping in.  I hope to be back later this week with another card to share.  Until then, have a great day!!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #415 ~ Leftovers!!

Good morning!  Well, we have a fun challenge for you over at Little Red Wagon this week.  Since we in Canada have just celebrated Thanksgiving with huge dinners (Confession....I did not have any turkey or trimmings this year) and most of us are still eating leftovers, that is the theme of our challenge.....LEFTOVERS.  There are two ways to play: 1) Post any paper crafting project that you have made previously for another occasion that has NOT been posted before.  No back linking or 2) Use scraps from another project on your creation.

Here is my card.  It was made previously in a class at a local scrapbooking store and all of the supplies have just sat in the bag.  I finally finished it up.  It features a stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie called Let Them Eat Cupcakes.  The lettering and embellishments are my favourite part.  You take red markers on Copic paper and scribble an ombre pattern.  You then die cut them out and punch circles with an ordinary punch.  The letters are mounted on foam also die cut.  The circles are topped with glossy accents.  Now you can make letters to match any card or layout.  What a fun idea!

Head on over to Little Red Wagon, check out what the other girlfriends have made and link up a leftover project of your own.

By the way, I had an incredible trip.  My grandchildren are growing like weeds and are a true joy to be with.  It was so nice to see them with their great grandparents.  My son and daughter-in-law are doing well too and are busy "doing life" as my son says.  Driving back to Calgary last Monday, there was at least 3 inches of snow on the trans Canada highway.  That was totally unexpected but fun to see as long as there was none when I got home.  LOL!!!

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a GREAT WEDNESDAY!!!!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #413 ~ Heart and Home

Hello there.  A new challenge begins today at Little Red Wagon and it couldn't be a better timed theme for me.  Sandy is our hostess and her challenge is HEART AND HOME ~ she wants to see us use both on our projects.  While you are reading this, I am probably in a car heading to visit my children and grandchildren for a week.  I see them once a year as they live 3,000 miles away.  They are my heart and being with family is always home. :) As an added bonus, I have my parents with me this trip.

Even though the timing of the challenge was perfect, I struggled with how to incorporate both these elements on my card.  This is the final result. I made a stencil of a heart and then used Brick Red Distress Ink to colour the heart onto watercolour paper.  I added the image from Your Next Stamp called Winter Home and the sentiment from Kraftin' Kimmie Christmas Cheer.  Patterned paper is Lawn Fawn Christmas Plaid. Button, twine, sequins and snow glitter are from my stash.

Glad you could drop by.  Head on over to Little Red Wagon, check out the amazing talent of the other girlfriends and link up a HEART AND HOME project of your own.

Until next time,

Little Red Wagon Challenge #412 ~ Leaf It to Me

Good morning.  As time flies, so does the seasons. It is the beginning of the Fall season here even though we are getting Summer temperatures that we did not get in the hot months.  Fall or autumn is my most favourite time of year as nature gives us such a show of her splendor with the changing of the colours of the leaves.  And that is Kate's challenge for you this week at Little Red Wagon ~ Leaf It To Me ~ she wants to see us use leaves on our projects.

My scene is made with Lawn Fawn products Jump for Joy stamp set and Stitched Hillside Border die.  Patterned paper and enamel dots are the ever popular Pumpkin Spice by Simple Stories.  This was a fun card to make.

So, as always, head on over to Little Red Wagon, check out the incredible inspiration form the other girlfriends and link up a leaf project of your own.

Thanks for dropping by. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #411 ~ Distress It!

Hey there.  Wow, the weeks are just flying by and it is Wednesday again and time for a new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  Our hostess this week is Jan and her challenge is entitled DISTRESS IT! She wants to see distressing on your projects. It could be distress ink or distressed paper.  Lots of possibilities.

So my project this week may give you a sense of deja vu.  Remember the card from last week?  If you didn't see it you can click HERE.  I used the exact same supplies to make a matching tag.  Distress inks used were Broken China, Cracked Pistachio and Worn Lipstick.  The stencil is by Vicki Boutin.  Reindeer is Lawn Fawn coloured with my Copics.  Sentiments and gumdrops are Your Next Stamp.  I didn't do the Wink of Stella over this one and wish I had of because the card is so much more sparkly.  I may still add it later.

So why not get your distressing on and play along with us this week.  Don't forget to head on over to Little Red Wagon and check out what the other girlfriends have made for inspiration.

Thanks for dropping by. Have a great day and I hope to see you soon.

Hello there.  It's time for a new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  Our hostess this week is Brenda and she wants to see your background ~ she wants you to make your own background paper for your project.

I used a Vicki Boutin stencil and three colours of Tim Holtz Distress Ink ~ Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio and Worn Lipstick~ to create my background.  I then used my clear Wink Of Stella to give it some sparkle.  Reindeer stamp is Lawn Fawn and coloured with my Copic Markers.  Sentiment and gumdrops are Your Next Stamp.

So head on over to Little Red Wagon, check out the inspiration from the other girlfriends and then show us your background.
