I Caved!!!! Lookie What I Got!

Hey my crafting friends.  Do you remember all the buzz a couple of months ago about something that was available at Custom Crops on pre-order?  Anyone???  :)  I hummed and hawed and did not order one.  Last Thursday night I was wandering around where I work and saw this:

And well now I am the proud owner of a pink ATG gun which I used a 50% off coupon to purchase and with no waiting time or shipping charges.  Makes me glad that I didn't jump on the band wagon when they first arrived.  I think I even have it before some of the US girls who ordered them on line.  It was tricky to load and I ended up taking it in to the girls in my custom framing department who use it all the time to help me load it.  I used it to scrapbook for the first time this afternoon and although it takes a bit of getting used to can I just say I do know why everyone loves them so much.

I'm off to do a couple more layouts this evening.  Hope everyone is enjoying their night.  Happy crafting.  I will share some new layouts on the weekend.

Butterfly Birthday Card ~ Without Using My Cricut :)

Hello all my crafting buddies.   This is just a quick card that I made for a friend's birthday.   It probably is a project I wouldn't call "blog worthy" but since I haven't been doing much crafting lately due to being busy at least I have something to share.

The butterfly stamp is from Michaels $1.50 bin embossed with white embossing powder.  I used Glossy Accents for the first time for the flower "button" on the butterfly and then added a tiny blue real button strung with pink embroidery floss.  The "Happy, Happy Birthday" stamp is from My Pink Stamper's Everyday Occasions also embossed with white embossing powder.  I used an EK Success border punch  to punch around the sentiment.  Buttons, rick rack and all paper from my stash.  Added a strip of pretty paper to the inside and voila, a fast and simple birthday card.

Thanks for coming by to visit.  Hope you are all having a wonderful day.

Tri Fold Card

Good evening, my friends. It has been a while since I last posted anything partly because not everything I make is new or blog worthy and partly because I was busy with work and teaching my first SDU class.  Classes are going well but there is a lot of time and effort needed to make it fun and successful.  I have also been offered another store that does not have an instructor so we will see how that goes.  :)

Anyway, on to the card....I first saw this card done on a blog that I follow and wanted to try one.  Check out the instructions here at this blog for measurements and a video tutorial.  I made 2 from one piece of cardstock and just decorated the inside differently.  They will make great little notecards for a gift.  (Please excuse the quality of the pictures.  I took them in a hurry before I left for work today.)

I used Forever Young Cricut cartridge to make the flower on the outside of the card cut at 2 1/2". The rest is just items from my stash.

Thanks for visiting.  Welcome to all the new followers that have joined in the last couple of days.  Have a wonderful evening and happy crafting.

My First Blog Awards

Yesterday I received two blog awards from my friend The Cropping Canuck and I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to her and that I am honoured that she thought of me to pass these on to.  I placed each of them at the bottom of my blog.  I know I am supposed to pass them on but most of the blogs I follow faithfully have received them in the last little while so I am going to keep the awards in mind to pass on at a later date when they are least expected to brighten someone's day.

Happy Tuesday evening, my friends.  I hope you all had a great day!

MY BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

I have been having some pretty intense training sessions with my computer for the last month or so.  Yesterday my diploma arrived in the mail.  I am so pleased to announce that I am certified to teach "Scrapbook Design & You" from EK Success.  I will be teaching at Michaels where I work part time.  Any of you that are local and want to sign up for the classes please e-mail me and I will tell you the dates and times.  As of this moment, I have 3 classes scheduled but no one has signed up yet.  That doesn't matter to me.  It is summer and people are in vacation mode.  Hopefully things will take off more in the fall.  Can you tell I am EXCITED about this???  :)

Have a great weekend, my crafting friends.  I am hoping to get a project or two done in between my work schedule but we will see.

"Thank You" Card for a Fundraiser

Good Thursday morning, everyone!  Hope y'all are doing well and surviving the summer heat if you have it.  It seems to be an extremely HOT summer this year and I am a winter girl and prefer the cold and snow.  You can always add a layer but ya can only take so much off  :)

This card I am sharing is for my first "real" card order for my business.  They are "Thank You" cards for a fundraiser/silent auction that a friend of mine did for Heart & Stroke Foundation last weekend.

Supplies I used were all from my stash.  I am in "use it up" mode before I buy another thing for crafting.  The stamp is from "My Pink Stamper" Everyday Occasions.  It is an "S" fold card and my first time trying it. I did not even use my Cricut machine. I wanted something simple yet elegant for these cards.

Thanks for stopping by.  I love it when you visit and leave me comments and love.  I have put the moderator approval first back on my comment form as I have had a few questionable comments and a virus threat lately but I know it is not from my wonderful crafting friends, just taking a few precautions.

Tomorrow I have an exciting announcement to share with you.  I am bursting at the seams to tell.  But wanted to wait until it was official. And it is now.

Have a great day, my friends.  And happy crafting.

Winner of the Canada Day Blog Hop blog candy Take #2

Hello all,

Well I waited a week and I did not hear from the original winner who also left no way for me to get in touch with her so I used random.org to redraw and the winner take # 2 is Sarah at Pink Cricut who said:

cute card! Happy Canada Day!

and left an e-mail address for me to contact her.  I will be getting in touch with her and getting her blog candy out to her as soon as possible.

I hope everyone is having a great Monday.  It was my first day back to work after a few off and I am tired and just wanting to relax for the rest of the evening.  I did not do any crafting while at my girlfriend's house so I have no new projects but hopefully will be in my pink castle tomorrow and will have something new to share.

Craft Room Accessories

Hi everyone!

Do you remember a while back when I was painting my pink craft room and I said I had some projects on the go and would share them with you?  Well, just yesterday I finished off the last one so am sharing them now.

First I made a bulletin board to display my cards (some that I made, some that were sent to me) and important information that I want to be able to see at all times.  If you recall, the room is pink with brown trim and this fabric matches the colours perfectly:

And secondly, I made a dust cover for my Cricut.  My old sewing machine has pretty much given up the ghost so this took me way longer to do than I thought it would.  If I was to do it again, I would make it a wee bit bigger as it is a very snug fit.  I found the pattern at Custom Crops in their project section.  Just search for Cricut Expression cover.

Thanks for stopping by today. I am off to visit a friend for a few days.  Don't think I will have much time to be on the computer but hopefully we will be doing a bit of crafting and I will share with you when I return.

Enjoy your day, my friends!  Happy crafting.  And, btw, try to stay cool.  Our weather here hit about 102 degrees today so I am so thankful for my air conditioning.
