Lunchbox Notecards

Good morning everyone!

Today my project is being featured at The Canadian Paper Trail and I am so honoured to be a part of this design team.  Please go check out the blog and if you leave a comment your name will be entered into a draw at the end.

Wouldn't it be fun to add these cute little notes to your child's lunch box? The notes I found at Michaels and there are 4 volumes with 4 notes in each package. Two note holders are pictured below, one for your son and one for your daughter. The base of the note holders is a piece of cardstock 4" x7", scored at 1 1/2" and 4 1/2". All the patterend papers, ribbons and other embellishments were just scraps from my stash. The dinosaur is from the Create A Critter cartridge cut at 2" and the circle/scalloped circle are from Mini Monograms cut at 2 1/2" and 2 1/4" with Real Dial Size on. The flowers were stamped in Versamark, coloured with chalk and then cut out. Scalloped square was cut at 2 1/2 from Mini Monograms as well.

These would also make cute little gift card holders if, like me, you have no children in school anymore.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day, my friends.

Week #2 Of "Mini Book of Me"

Good morning, my friends!  Posts two days in a row.....a record for right now...LOL!!!

This is the second page for my Mini Book of Me.  The question was "When you were a kind what did you want to be when you grew up?"  My answer to this was a writer.  I have always enjoyed writing and have kept a journal on and off my whole life.  Never made it to the writer yet....one can only dream.  Although I do have this blog here and I know I go off on tangents that are not paper craft related as the inner writer in me is being challenged.... :)

I used papers from my stash and sprayed the plain green with Smooch glimmer mist.  It was the first time I had used it and I like the shine it gave the plain paper.   The hand was cut from the Sentimental Cricut cartrige at 2 1/2".  I like the formal look to this page.  Some of you were asking how I did this.  It is an A2 envelope sealed shut with a small peice cut off of the side and covered with paper.  If you have any more questions about this, please feel free to e-mail me.  It is a project I am doing that is from Janis' blog Pause Dream Enjoy.  You can check out all the details by following the link above.

Have a wonderful Tuesday.  See you soon.

Congratulations Card

Good Morning, my friends.

One of my coworkers received a promotion and I was asked to make a card we could all sign.  I wanted to personalize it and I knew she was an animal print fan so I used scraps of paper I have had in my stash "forever".  The card itself is 5" x 7" and fits into a size A7 envelope.  Uses Forever Young Cricut cartridge cut at 4 1/2" and My Pink Stamper Everyday Occasions stamps.  All other supples are from my stash.

I have not had time to do much crafting at all as I have been madly packing up the apartment to move.  I will have a few more posts before I do that but I don't think I will be around too much in the next month.

Have a great Monday all!!

My Mini Book of Me

I had decided that I was going to join a group of ladies from Janis' blog that were doing the project found HERE.  I am a little behind but will be caught up by the end of the week I hope.  This is the first page in my book.  Each week there will be a question asked and when we are finished we will have a cute little mini album all about us.  There are no pictures for this album, just info about yourself.  I am making my album out of envelopes.  I sealed the envelope, covered it with paper on both sides and decorated it, slicing a very think strip off of one side to make the opening for my tag.  The question is on the outside and the answer will be on the tag.  I need to find rings to hold it together after I finish and post question number two.

I hope as I do this I will learn things about myself as I answer these questions and years from now I hope my grand kids and great grand kids will learn things about me as I leave a legacy behind for them.

Yesterday I tried my hand at a different kind of creative project.  I made and iced cupcakes trying out Wilton food colouring and tips for the first time.  They did not turn out that great and I learned that I need to make my icing more stiff to put through the bags and tips but they do taste good.  This is how they looked:

Well, happy Monday, my crafting friends.  Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment so that I know that you were here.    I am not sure how much I will be around for the next little while.  I am packing up to move and although my scrap space will be the last to pack, it still needs to be done before we move. I will miss my creative outlet but promise to be back in full swing again by the end of September.

Anyone Wanna Join Me?

Last night while surfing a scrapbooking message board that I belong to I found out about a free class being offered here: http://www.bigpicturescrapbooking.com/.  It is called the Big Idea Festival and will feature projects and ideas daily from a different designer.  It looks like it will be a lot of fun and a challenge for sure.  If I don't keep up and get projects done, I will always have access to them later and a resource that I can use in the future.

Anyone want to join me in taking this class?

Have a great day, my friends.

All Things Creative.....

As time begins to get more taken up with "things" in my life, creative time becomes less and less.  And it is taking a toll on me as I mentioned yesterday.  I become cranky when I don't get some "me" time in there.  So, I did the few chores that needed to be done yesterday and then went to the pink castle to play.  Both of the 2 projects that I am posting were started WAY before then but finished up finally.  And I need to be organized in order for creativity to flow so I spent about an hour organizing the castle as everything had just been left where it had been dropped.  I actually feel more settled today (even though I will not have time to craft today as I work an 8 hr shift)!

First project is a card that I tried, not a new concept by any means, but something different than the usual A2 size.  It is a "tall" card and will fit into a legal size envelope perfectly.  The base of the card is 71/2" X 9", scored at 3 3/4".  All of the paper and embellishments were from my stash.  The large burgundy flower was cut from a patterned paper that co-ordinated with all of the other papers.  The sentiment is hand written as the stamped one in brown was too hard to read on the burgundy paper and I do not have a white stamp pad.  :)

A friend that I work with lent me a Cricut cartridge that I do not have Everyday Paper Dolls (Thanks Christine!)  I wanted it to make the snowboarder boy and skiing girl originally as this is what my son and his fiancee do in the winter and I am going to take some pictures for a layout.  But I got carried away and this was the result.....8 little "people" complete with bling.  My hubby asked what I was gonna do with them.  My answer was that I am not sure but they are cute.  Any ideas????

Well, that's it for now.  Happy Friday, my crafting buddies.  And have a wonderful weekend as well.  Not sure if I will be around or not.

A Great and Easy Giveaway to Enter!

Good morning everyone!!!  I have sadly been neglecting both my blog and my Facebook fan page as well as my actual pink castle.  I NEED to get back to creating to help me feel more settled about everything that is going on around me.  I hope to get in there in a few minutes and actually do something creative with the time I have free this afternoon.

But I do have something to share with you.  My friend Sarah over at Pink Cricut is having a giveaway which requires no project, just a link to sharing it with all of my friends.  So, please click here for the details to enter this giveaway:  Pink Cricut Giveaway.  I would love to own a set of these stamps as they have so many great sayings on them.

Well, that's it for now.  There may be a project on here later today or tomorrow.  I am off to create and teach a scrapbooking class tonite.  Take care, my crafting buddies.

Hugs, Heather
