Little Red Wagon Challenge #335 ~ For the Love of Water

Good morning.  I believe someone is taking the week and making it shorter all the time.  Wednesday seems to roll around much more quickly than anticipated ALL THE TIME.  And, I run out of time to get in all the crafting I would like.  Sigh!!!  Guess that's how it goes with a day job and a home to take care of.  :)

As previously mentioned because it is Wednesday we start a new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  First off, I would like to take a moment to welcome our new girlfriend Kate.  Take a minute to visit her blog and make her feel welcome.  Our hostess for this week's challenge is Mandy and her theme is FOR THE LOVE OF WATER ~ using watercolours or watercolour techniques.  This was new to me so I went to my usual place when I want to look something up ~ Pinterest ~ and found there a number of watercolour techniques to use on cards.  I combined techniques from a few and came up with this.

Stamp is from Stampin' Up Botanicals for You set embossed on watercolour paper with clear embossing powder and heat embossed.  Then I used my aqua brush and Tim Holtz distress mini inks to add the colour.  Card stock is Recollections, patterned paper is Simple Stories Carpe Diem, flowers and sequins are from my never ending stash.

Head on over to Little Red Wagon, check out what the other girlfriends have made and link up a watercolour project of your own.

I actually really enjoyed this technique and trying something new and there may be another similar card to share in the near future so stay tuned.  Have a great day!!!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #334 ~ Happy Easter/Spring

Hello friends!  I have been MIA for a couple of weeks but am back and glad to be here.  Today starts a brand new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  Our hostess is Donna and her theme is either Easter or Spring cards.

I coloured up this retired stamp from Whimsy with my Copic markers.  It was supposed to look like a chocolate bunny but not sure I pulled that off very well.  Patterned paper and enamel dots are from the Simple Stories Carpe Diem collection.  Twine was in my stash.  Inside sentiment is Michael's $1.50 bin.

Little Red Wagon Challenge #332 ~ Mainly Masculine

Hey there.  So it's that time of the week again that rolls around so very quickly ~ time for a new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  Our hostess is Jan and she wants MAINLY MASCULINE ~ cards for men/boys/teenage boys.  Not hard right????

When I was preparing for my craft show last week as I was putting all of my cards into their proper categories I found one that was severely lacking ~ men and boys.  I quickly put together a couple to try to make up for the deficit but clearly masculine cards are not something I focus on.  You can't use pink or put pretty flowers on them. LOL!

This is my card for the challenge.  I used a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp called "Wild and Crazy Guys" which sadly is no longer available.    Coloured him up with my Copic markers, paired him with paper and enamel dots from Echo Park Jack and Jill and did lots of distressing along the edges.  I think the result is a masculine card.  We women wouldn't look that goofy getting ready to grill.  Hee hee!!!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #331 ~ Layer of One

Good Morning.  Today begins a new challenge at Little Red Wagon and I am your hostess this week.  My challenge is Layer of One ~ a CAS card with only one layer.  I can embellish cards to the max but creating a clean and simple one was a real challenge. Now technically the card I have created has two layers (one colour and one white layer) but it is as CAS as I get. :)

I based my card on the growing trend of adult colouring books and used a mandala that my nephew designed (He's a graphic artist).  I printed it out on Copic Xpress It paper and coloured it up with my Copic markers.  And that took me two hours to complete. The turquoise paper and ink are Lost Lagoon from Stampin' Up.  Sentiment is High Hopes.  I really like how this turned out and have a couple more printed to do in the future.

A close up of the colouring:

So head on over to Little Red Wagon and see what the other girlfriends have done with my challenge.  Link up a one (or two) layer CAS card of your own.  I will be choosing my top picks next Tuesday.

Have a great day!!!!
