Paper Playtime Challenge #41

Good morning, my friends.  Monday again (sigh!) but it is the Monday that we have a new challenge over at Paper Playtime.  There are three themes for the next two weeks: 1) make anything pink and glittery, 2) make anything using a critter and a rhyme and 3) make anything using purple and green for Mardi Gras.  And I decided to surprise everyone and NOT make something pink and glittery.  I used challenge two, a critter and a rhyme.

A close up of the rhyme:

I searched animal rhymes and then put a few of them together to come up with the poem on the card.  The card measures 5" x 5".  The snail is from the Paisley cartridge and is cut at 2 1/2".  The tag is a Creative Memories punch and the sentiment "Hello" is from My Pink Stamper's Everyday Occasions stamp set.  Card stock is Recollections and all other supplies are from my stash.  Lots of doodling and some stickles add more dimension.

Thanks for coming by today.  Please join us for our challenges at Paper Playtime.  You have until March 26th to show us what you can do!

Until next time,

Anyone Guess My Favourite Colour?!?

Good afternoon, blog land.  It has been gloomy, rainy and snowy here for a few days now and I felt like my mood was matching it so into my "pink castle" (which is no longer pink since we moved but still has that nickname) I went for some crafting therapy.  I created two cards and a special project which I will be sharing some time next week.  I really like the way this project turned out and hope you will be back to see it....hint!hint!

On to the project I am sharing at the moment though.  I made a card using one of the images that I had coloured at my bff's house a couple of weekends ago.  And the whole card is based on my fave colour.  Anyone guess what it is???  Well, let's take a look at the card and see:

I am sure it was not hard to guess, especially for those who know me or anyone who has been following my blog for a while as it is my "go to" colour and the one I gravitate to the most.  I did have to add a bit of green and white but PINK rules.  Hee!!hee!!!  Stamped image is from The Greeting Farm coloured with Copic markers and the sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's Everyday Occasions stamp set.  All other supplies are from my immense stash.

Thanks for dropping by today.  I am sorry it has been a while since anything has been posted.  Life gets busy but I need to make time to craft as it calms my soul and just makes me happy in general.

Take care, everyone.  Hope to see you back really soon.

Spring Flowers

Good morning!  How is the weather where you are?  Spring is supposed to be just around the corner but yesterday it felt like one of the coldest days of the winter.  I think it was the wind but it was chilly both outside and inside.  Good job I like layers.  But in honour of Spring being on its way I created a flower pot full of pretty pink flowers.  This is by no means an original card and has been around for a while but it is the first time that I have tried it.  I used prima flowers for this one but could see making them with flowers cut out on the Cricut as well.  The sentiment is cut from Just Because Cards and Don Juan Cricut cartridges.

Who wouldn't like to receive a cute pot of flowers?  I think I need to make a few of these for my stash and for sale as well.

Again, thanks so much for stopping by.  I am glad I can share my creations with you and inspire you to create.  I would love to see your spring projects so please feel free to leave links to your blog or facebook pages so that I can come visit you.

Until next time,

My First.....and I'm in LOVE!!!!!

Good Morning blog world!  Today is Tuesday which means I made it through Monday. Days like Monday and Friday mean nothing to you really when you work part time retail because the store seems like it is always open, and I guess, in a way it is, because there are some hours of operation every single day.  But there are huge changes coming down at the store where I work and I found out about them Sunday and this made Monday a much harder day than usual and I made it through (partly due to the fact that when I got off of work Monday I ended up taking a 4 hour nap and didn't have to think!)  Okay, so enough about that....on to crafting.....

Friday and Saturday I spent with my BFF who I have not seen in forever.  We used to spend at least one weekend a month together but then I got the above mentioned retail job and finding time has been hard.  She told me she had found something new that she had been playing with and taking classes with....copic markers.  I, of course, had heard of them and had seen the wonderful stamps that people colour with them.  So I tried hers and let's just say I hope I can visit her more often in the next few months or win the lottery as I am HOOKED.  So relaxing to sit and colour and blend.  I coloured several images and they will  be showing up in some cards and projects in the next little bit on my blog but here is the first....

I know the stamp is from The Greeting Farm, copic markers are from my BFF and all the other supplies are from my stash.  I am in LOVE.  Copic marker addiction here I come  :)  My non-existent craft budget can't suffer if it's not there, right?

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope things are great with all of you.  Take care, my friends.  And I will see you back here again real soon.

Digi Monday at Paper Playtime

Good Monday morning, my friends.  I hope your weekend was good and you all got some crafting or time for yourselves in whatever you spent it doing.  It is the last Monday of the month and that means digi Monday over at Paper Playtime.  I still have much to learn about colouring digi stamps but am still enjoying trying :)

The first card I made used Digital Delights by Louby Lou and features St. Patrick's Day Larry topper image.  I just thought he was so cute and what better way to display him than to place him "peeking" over a wall.  He just makes me smile.

My second project uses an image from Digis With Attitude.  Mikey Monkey is so cute as he tries to look mean and angry just hanging on his tree branch.  I made him into a bookmark.  I used a combination of water colour pencils and markers to colour him and them carefully cut him out for the book mark.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  Remember the theme at Paper Playtime this week is Anything Goes so come and play along with us.  We love what you all come up with for our challenges.

Take care, y'all.  Hope to see you again really soon.

FIF #13 Matchbox

Good Morning, my bloggy friends.  I have definitely been MIA for a bit.  Life gets busy and as you all know, can get in the way.  I have completed all the projects for my design teams but that's all the crafting I have been able to fit in.  I need to do something just for me to post here for you.

Today the new challenge at Flaunt It Fridays is to use the matchbox #2 from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More.  This cut is extremely challenging and was so hard for me to figure out as I do not have the cartridge but just as a free download on my Gypsy.  Thanks to all my wonderful design team members for the help when I was so frustrated with it.  Just a hint if you are going to make one....use heavy cardstock for both the base and the lid and place both on your Gypsy mat at the same time so they will size proportionately and fit together....clear as mud :).  Please feel free to contact me if you need further help.

Here is the little box I came up with after I wasted a ton of paper that did not fit:

As far as the supplies I used I know that the card stock and printed card stock are Recollections and everything else is from my stash.  I have NO crafting budget right now at the moment so it is either use it up or don't make it.  Since I have enough in my stash not making a project doesn't seem to be a problem.  This box could be used for a gift card or small gift or for whatever you want to use it for.

Please come over and join us this week at Flaunt it Fridays and show us how you flaunt your matchbox or similar cuts.

Until next time,

An Old Fashioned Cameo

Do any of you remember your grandmother wearing a cameo brooch?  Well the silhouette from  Forever Young reminded me of this and so it was the inspiration for this card.  It is not officially my team's week at Flaunt it Fridays but I used the cut and made this quick card.  All supplies were from my stash.

I'm just building up my collection of cards as it is getting very low.  I like how this card turned out so much I think I may do it in a few other colours besides purple and keep them handy.

Thanks for dropping in today.  Please go over to visit Flaunt It Fridays and show us what you can do with your silhouette cuts.

Until next time,

Paper Playtime #38 Animal Print

Hey. y'all!!!  First off,  Happy Valentine's Day!  It's not really a day that I make too much of but just didn't want you to think that I forgot.  Hee hee!!

Today your mission if you chose to accept it is to make a project using an animal print and link it here at Paper Playtime.  My personal stash of cards is getting very low so I made a card for this challenge.  But I wanted it to be a challenge so I tried to find a card fold that I had never used before and came up with one called a gatefold card.  Pretty simple really.  You take a piece of 8 1/2" X 4 1/4" card stock and score it at 2 1/8" and again at 6 3/8" to form "gates".  Add some decorative layers and viola, a cute new card.

The card stock is all from Recollections including the animal print.  It is from their new collection of printed card stock called appropriately, Animal Print.  The flower is cut at 2 1/4" from the Forever Young Cricut cartridge.  The pink animal print ribbon is from Michaels.

Thanks for visiting today.  Please come over and join us at Paper Playtime and show us how you use your animal print.
