Pause, Dream, Enjoy Linky Party #4 ~ Lace

Good Morning and welcome to another linky party at Pause, Dream, Enjoy.  Our theme for the next two weeks is LACE ~ it can be real lace, lace like paper or a lace border punch ~ anything that says LACE to you and link it up for us to see.

My project is a little late (or a whole year early) for the holiday it represents.  I used a digi stamp from Bugaboo Stamps called "Turtle Love" and inked it up with my copic markers, cut it out in a circle and inked the edges with Tim Holtz tea dye distress ink.  Plain card stock and a few embossing folders for texture along with lace, flowers and ribbon add the finishing touches.  The outside sentiment is from Michaels $1.50 bin and the inside is from a My Pink Stamper set.

So, any of you remember the post I did at the beginning of January about what I wanted to do this year and I shared many of my goals.  Well, it is the middle of February and all of the goals I have set for myself have come up one big FAIL.  I have not scrapped a single page,  I have not even glanced at my camera and have not looked at getting a business started at all.  This is only my third post of the year so this blog has been sadly neglected.  Is this a wake up call and am I going to get back on track?  I would like to say yes but truthfully there are major things going on in other areas of my life which are making crafting much less a priority.  So, my loyal blog friends (probably only about 2 of you since I have not posted in so long), I will not be updating as much as I would like.  Someday soon I hope to share some good news which will give me more time for crafting.  Until then,  I will have at least 1 post a month for my remaining design team.

Thanks for dropping in today and putting up with my rambling.  Please join us at Pause, Dream, Enjoy for our lace themed linky party.

Until next time, keep crafting (and do some for me too...LOL!)

Pause, Dream, Enjoy Linky Party #2 ~ Friendship Cards

Good Morning,  Today marks the start of our second linky party.  The theme for this party is "FRIENDSHIP CARDS".  Please link up your friendship cards HERE so that we can see your wonderful creations.

This year one of the things I wanted to do with my crafting was try new things.  My nephew did a graphic art program in school and had a set of Prismacolor pencils that he let me borrow.  I wanted to try to colour an image using the pencils and odorless mineral spirits.  After watching many tutorials on Youtube and Pinterest I tried it myself.  I stamped the image "Friends are for Hugging" by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps twice onto plain white card stock from Michaels with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Here are the two images coloured with the list of pencil colours I used underneath.  Both are so different in shades and colours.  I just experimented with the colours I used to blend together.  It was a fun method and I will do it again for sure.  It will take some practice.

A close up of the images:

I used Sample 2 to make the card I have to show you today. If you come back later this week I will have a scrapbook layout using Sample 1.

Pause, Dream, Enjoy Linky Party #1 ~ Balloons Midway Point

Good Morning!  Welcome to the first linky party for Pause, Dream, Enjoy, formerly known as Paper Playtime challenges.  We have moved this year and become a bi-weekly linky party.  We are actually half way through our challenge so you have one more week ~ up until Monday, January 20th at midnight EST ~ to enter your balloon project.

Here are the rules of the new linky parties:
RULES:
1) Follow the theme
2) New or Past projects welcome
(any type of crafting as long as it fits the current theme)
3) You may link up as many times as you'd like
(as long as they are different projects)
4) Become a FOLLOWER of Pause Dream Enjoy

Easy, peasy correct?  Hope to see lots of my friends entering this new challenge.  We want it to become a success.

I have made a card for the next "official" holiday ~ Valentine's Day ~ truthfully one of my least favorite.  I see it as a made up holiday for the gain of the chocolate and flower industry.  Maybe because it is that I have never had a spectacular one and am always disappointed by my expectations.  If I have no expectations, maybe it will be a great day.  My card uses an assortment of stamps that I masked and made into one.  The snowman is from High Hopes and the balloon with hearts on it is from Crafter's Companion.

Inside:

RECIPE:
Copic Xpress It Card Stock
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Images ~ High Hopes Lg. Stackable Stanley
~ Crafter's Companion Smile (single balloon)
Copic Markers
Card Stock ~ Recollections
Sizzix Hearts Embossing Folder
Sentiments ~ Michaels $1.50 Bin (both outside and inside)
Washi Tape ~ Recollections (Black), unknown red/white as it was a gift
Glossy Accents
Stickles ~ Gunmetal
Ribbon ~ Michaels

Copics Used:  0. BG10, BG11, BG13, BG72, BG75, BG78, R35, R37, R39, YR02, YR04, YR07, YR21, YR23, YR24, W1

So, for those of you who visit regularly, let's just say that my scrapbook page count is 0.  My crafting mojo has taken a hike and I need to get it back, hence why it has been fourteen days (which is the longest time for a while) between posts.  I am a list maker so this week I am making a list of what I want to scrapbook and starting.  It will give me satisfaction to be able to cross each page off the list.

Thanks for coming by.  Have a great Tuesday, my friends.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014!!!!!

Good Morning!  I hope the holidays were all you wanted them to be.

I said I would be back with a post about the changes on my blog.  And here it is.  First off,  I am no longer on the One Crazy Stamper design team.  My last post was Christmas Day ~ check it out if you haven't already.  I am also not going to be doing the monthly Christmas blog hop ~ yes I got my cards done that way but I am more a mass produce kind of gal and had a hard time deciding whom to give a different card to so that was more stressful than making them all at once.  I am staying on one design team ~ the one formally known as Paper Playtime.  But there is some news with them.  They will be moving to Pause Dream Enjoy under the linky tab every other Tuesday.  This will start January 7th.

So, on a different note, what will I be doing with all of this spare time since there won't be as many design team commitments?  I am going back to something that I did first ~ that is scrapbooking.  I am very far behind on pictures and want to scrapbook the two new loves of my life ~ my grandchildren.  I may be sharing a layout before I add the photos once in a while but I am going to be sharing a running total of the pages I get done.  Cheer me on with this!!!

Also, there are a few other things I would like to concentrate on.  I would like to improve my photography so that there will be better pictures to scrapbook.  This requires that I take some photography courses and learn to use photo editing software.   That will be something to cross off of my bucket list. I would like to take steps to start a small business selling my cards.  I am going to start my own Etsy shop and hopefully a website too.  Lots of time and effort but worth it I am sure.  I also do other crafts besides paper crafting and a few more of them may show up on the blog.

Lastly, there will be a few more posts similar to this one ~ personal musings with no pictures involved.  They may be about something that happens in my life, something that I feel passionate about or just rambling.  I sincerely hope you will continue to stop by and support my blog in its new direction.

Happy New Year.  May 2014 be all that you want it to be!!!

Happy 10th Anniversary....to Me!

Hello all!  By now, all the presents are unwrapped, food has been prepared and eaten, family and friends have been visited (for the most part) and Christmas holidays are winding down.  We still do have New Year's to look forward to.  Ten years ago I decided I wanted to be extra busy at Christmas time and got married on December 27th.  I can not believe I am celebrating my 10th anniversary today.  How time literally has flown.  I looked through my computer and have no pictures of our wedding on it but I do have a recent picture of my hubby and I at the end of this post.

First I have his card to show you.  It uses an adorable stamp from My Favorite Things which is now retired called "Precious Little Lamb Better Together" and a sentiment from Magnolia Mini "The Best Thing". I colored the image with Copics.  All card stock is from Recollections.  Twine from American Crafts.  Heart punch is Creative Memories.  Inside sentiment is Michaels $1.50 bin.

Here we are in 2013:

Thank you all for coming by today. As I have said before, there are some changes coming up on my blog for this year and I will share them shortly, probably a post for December 31.  I wish you all the best for 2014.

Good Morning!

A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU!!!!!!!!!

I also have another bit of news to share with you today.  This is my last weekly post for One Crazy Stamper as a design team member.  I have chosen to step down.  I want to thank Lora and my fellow design team members for a wonderful year of being on the team and for all of your help and support.  I will miss you all.  Okay.....moving on.....

The card I have made to show you today is a special one for me as it is my personal reason for celebrating today.  I used a stamp from the High Hopes line called Precious Nativity.  It is minimally embellished so the stamp can be the focus.

Christmas Penguins

Good Morning.  It is Wednesday and my day to share my creation for One Crazy Stamper.  By now I would figure most of us are finished our Christmas cards, tags and other projects but there always seems to be the one person we may forget.  This was an "extra" card I made in case that person came to mind.  :)  It uses a stamp from the High Hopes Christmas Release and I kept it simple so that it could be used for a male card as well.

RECIPE:
(All linked supplies are available at One Crazy Stamper)
Card Stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ Docrafts Wellington 6" x 6"

There is still time to enter the challenge of  "WINTER/HOLIDAY" for the month of December at One Crazy Stamper.  I know I enjoy seeing all of the great creations you make for us.

Enjoy your day and I will be back with a couple more posts before Christmas along with some changes that are coming in the new year.

And her big brother Evan:

What a great feeling it is to be able to spoil my grandkids :)
